I owe Adrian Newey A WHOLE LOT! I was sitting on my desk in Egypt in 2017 studying for my final year in engineering and asking myself, well, how on earth can I work in the motorsports or hyper cars industry in the future while we don't seem to have a natural path to pursue such jobs in Egypt. Then I read a pirated copy of Adrian's "How to Build a Car", twice, and I actually found that the way shouldn't at all be straightforward, you should accept and adapt and be flexible! Fast forward to 2020, I am working at Koenigsegg, and I bought a hard copy of the book, I read it once more, and I was like, okay, now I can go to Geneva Motor Show as a part of the company crew in the VIP days, meet Adrian and ask him to sign my copy of the book, Covid hit, Geneva Motor Show is cancelled, and I am sitting here trying to forge a new master plan to get my copy autographed.. Thank you, Adrian!

Really glad he’s staying on for more years, as long as he loves what he does, as he says himself. And reading his biography How To Build A Car is so enlighting too! Its like an adventure story combined with his life story through the F1/Indycar series with such funny anekdotes. Its a must read. Then they changed the rules again in 2019 to take away merc's front wing dominance, again rb came up short. They then AGAIN changed the rules specifically in 2021 just so high rake cars could benefit and even then it required a rogue race director to fix the race in max's favor and rb still lost on constructors. Ultimately fia was left with no choice but to tailor make rules to suit adrian's core specialty and just so there wouldnt be shred of challenge to them, modified the suspension rules and removed hydraulics and other features so merc couldnt whip their ass in that department again.

Hey there. I used to have a Ducati 900 SS and then I got a Moto Guzzi 850 Le Mans in the late 70's early 80's. Surely that should get my foot in the door. Please tell Adrian and I will prepare to start next Monday.

When it comes to my F1 fandom there are two people in all of F1 that I have always wanted to meet and shake their hands in gratitude. The first is Adrian Newey and the second is James Allison. I so revere these 2 car CTO designers as they are who I call the "Wizards of F1'.

Great Interview, brilliant mind. p.s. I don't know if someone already said this in the comments or not.. But when Mr, Newey spoke about the "1000 hour rule", about how you become an expert at something after 1000 hours. It's actually 10,000 hours.. After 10,000 hours you would reach mastery of your particular skill, at 1000 hours you are only about 1/10, 0r 10% of an expert!
