Isn’t it crazy how us old wow players have almost formed a band of brothers. We all have similar experiences to which we can relate and so we have come together in nostalgia to a game which we wish we could experience again but know we never will… it is a sad state of affairs

The DEA comment hit it on the head. I’m a Police Officer and WoW is my escape from the daily toxicity that is people.

Brings back great memories. I remember seeing this when it first released. Icecrown is still my favorite instance of all time. I quit mid-Cata, came back for Classic but never cleared ICC before they shut down the servers. It was sad to see Wotlk shut down for good, AGAIN. Lol

The real hero is the raid designer. Think about it, they manipulate how players should play, and force the players to find the way to beat the boss which the methods are already well-planned but hidden to be found.

When you're designing a raid encounter you could simply make so many different mechanics that require coordination with other people very often and create a boss that would be unkillable except for the most organized and best players but then a large % of the population of the game who does raiding content like 99.9% would not be able to partake in the content that they enjoy.

And on top of all of these coordinated mechanics you could have tuning that requires the absolute maximum performance from the damage dealers and healers to be able to compete. For the hard mode versions of raids in WoW I believe that the first half of the raid is tuned for around the 60th percentile of the damage and healing potential of a raiding group and the later half is tuned to be able to be completed by the 70th or 80th percentile.

ICC still one of my most fun times ever raiding in WoW. Sadly as the years passed I stopped raiding altogether -- part was the time IRL I had to commit to the game waned, part was I slowly started hated the egos, arrogance and the pettiness people in raids have particularly towards those NOT in your guild with you. YES I was kicked before , but surprising these comments aren't solely based on that...there many times I wasn't kicked but still saw the nonsense and BS in the raid chat and on the comms and then people were kicked en masse. Why? Did they mess up a lot -- no, they got no second chance....three people were kicked for low DPS -- but get this AFTER the boss was killed and there were no deaths in the raid. But they said "bye....gear up..." one guy called one of them "dude your dps is terrible you shouldn't be here".... ITS A FUCKING GAME PEOPLE. If someone isn't trying like stepping in the fire not paying attention etc etc. that's one thing. But no chances? Even when the raid is rolling fine through the instance? Yeah that made me go "yeah I'm out from this ego bullshit".

As a small anecdote, the gear and the footage didn't match the actual recording of the fights. The footage came from a 9-man carry with my character "Steadycam" just RP walking and taking footage. :D Their progression was definitely real.
