I am a convert from the Netherlands. During ramadan 2013 i said the shahada, but it took me 3 years to start the to wear the hijab. I am so happy i am wearing hijab now, i never took one step outside my house without hijab. But now i ask myself sometimes why it took so long before i started to wear hijab. I would like to say to woman/Girls Who are also doubting to wear hijab, beat this shaytaan Who is talking to you. And i promise you, you Will feel so much stronger, happier and your face Will be full of nour. And most important you Will feel always and everywhere this strong connection with Allah swt.If i can wear it, every woman can. May Allah swt guide all of us to the straight path.

@Achraf Er-ramy ANY ONE WHO REJECTS Hadith A Saheeh AHaadeeth A Sound Hadith Of The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam Fear For He's Islam PROOF From The Qur'an The Prophet’s Sunnah is the second source of Islamic sharee‘ah. The revelation came down to the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) with the Sunnah as it came down to him with the Qur’an. The proof of that is the words of Allah, may He be exalted (interpretation of the meaning): “Nor does he speak of (his own) desire. It is but a revelation revealed” [ Qur'an an-Najm 53:3-4]. Allah, may He be exalted, has enjoined upon the believers complete submission to the words of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) and his hadith and rulings, to the extent that He, may He be glorified, swore by His divine self that whoever hears the words of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him), then rejects them and does not accept them, has nothing to do with faith at all. He, may He be glorified and exalted, said (interpretation of the meaning): “But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him)) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission” [ Qur'an an-Nisa’ 4:65]. Hence there was consensus among the scholars that whoever denies that the Sunnah constitutes shar‘i evidence in general terms, or rejects a hadith of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him - knowing that it is the words of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) - is a dis beli ev er, who has not attained even the lowest level of Islam and submission to Allah and His Messenger. When people question the hijab and they start saying covering your hair isn't mandatory I always say this: We cover our hair for reading namaaz, praying Quran, for Umrah and Hajj. This is something no one will dare question, you wouldn't dare performing these acts of worship without making sure every hair on your head is tucked away out of sight, right? So why not extend this (headcovering) to your everyday life? Make your everyday normal life an act of worship, an act of ibaadat, be in a constant 'state of ready' Salaam x

In Bible, women who nit cover their hair, shave their head... This is the command from bible.. In Quran, it is given as a guide with quote 'it is better for you' the are no punishment stated for it... So it is a guidance for people to follow... Its also stated thats for women who pass the menstrual age, it is not required of them. Sinead o Connor really understand this, she state this in one of her interview.. she knows the hijab is no more required of her, yet she consciously choose to wear..

@Shiza Amjad the verse 24:31 specifically mention headscarf which are to cover the chest.. .. headscarf is meant to be use as a hat, so the verse says use the headscarf and extend it to cover the chest area... arabic words is 'khimar'.. you'll find it is the verse if you truly read it.. .. for real life example for it, you may refer to how the christian nun cover their hair.. .. but if you are muslim and choose not to follow, its your choice, no punishment for it.. but do not tell lies to deceive others..

@Shiza Amjad done out of respect ?.. respect to whom ?.. .. . The above verse ends with 'O believers'.. which mean 'for those who believe'.. .. .. so it is really your personal choice to believe or not to believe.. that is if you're muslim.. if you're not, its a learning curve on why Nuns wears the hijab too...because in bible, women are punished if they dont cover.. .. but for Quran.. it is meant for those believing in quranic verses..

I reverted to Islam about one and a half years ago. I started wearing hijab right away. I can say that I see the difference between wearing hijab and not wearing. Before I started wearing hijab I got harassed by men a lot. I always dresses modestly according to western standards. When I started wearing hijab I noticed that pretty much all the harassment stopped. I feel like I understand the benefits from wearing hijab first hand.

Beautiful story Holly. Of course in the Quran we are told to practice the hijab, but so is lowering the gaze.. and that also applies to both men and women. So if you still get harassed even after wearing hijab, that's not the fault of the hijab, but rather the problem in "lowering the gaze" among men. You have done your part. Keep going strong.

I am a Muslim, but I never wear a hijab. And I never feel the difference of my faith to Allah, wearing or not wearing it. I do the very important obligation to Allah, the sallah. And not wearing a hijab doesn't make me feel like I am a bad person. I am doing good and I never want to harm anyone with my words and actions because I know Allah doesn't like that. I do good deeds because in the name of Allah. Eversince I learned the beauty of Islam since when I was a little girl until now it has never escaped from my heart even once. In my mind and my heart, I am very thankful and proud to be a Muslim. I choose not to wear hijab, I am not convinced with any Khutbas or other people's words. But I do dress modestly. Being modest is not only shown through your hijab, but also with your words, action and how you treat other people. It actually hurts me seeing Muslim women in hijab and not acting modestly in their words and actions. It hurts me. I don't hate them. It just hurts deep inside that makes me cry because hijab is already tradionally known to be worn by a Muslim. Some Islam gurus in our place even said that if a woman doesn't cover her hair, it will become snakes in hereafter! (Like, what verse in the Quran proves that.) I heard this many times, but I am not even convinced. These are just exageration to force women to wear hijab. Therefore, some women, learned this first, especially young ones, and skipped to learn the real essence of modesty which is the manners, the words, the actions, the decency and so on. However, though I am not a woman in hijab, I am very happy to see other women in hijab. My heart always says "I am proud of you. You are loved by Allah. And please Allah, protect her." I can't count how many times I have already said this in my heart everytime I see a woman in hijab. Only Allah knows us well. He knows our heart and he hears even our little prayers. May Allah bless everyone with open heart.

What I understood from the video is that at that time women were already wearing headscarf and they was numerous fashion (including men). However, Allah specified women to cover their chests. So for me, dressing decently and hijab of the eyes and manner is more important. I do appreciate people who wears headscarf. However, there are some women who goes over the top with accessories and make up as if to compensate the hijab hence drawing attention more to them. Anyone agrees or disagrees?

Please listen to the video carefully before bad mouthing Scholars. - Hijab in the Quran refers to an extra layer or curtain which Allah prescribed for only the mothers of the believers. This is what Sheikh Yasir refers to in the video when he says you don’t have to wear the Hijab and if we look amongst the Ummah there aren’t many if not any women who maintain a physical barrier i.e a curtain. - Sheik Yasir also said Allah does say that the Khimar and Jilbab should be worn by all believing women. To conclude, please don’t confuse Khimar and Jilbab with the Hijab. They are two different things and Sheikh Yasir who is way more qualified in the Deen than any of us posting here, has tried to clarify the difference between the two. We should know are position and the lack of knowledge we have in comparison to great scholars and that fact that we don’t have any credibility in forming opinions before we start refuting them.

That got me thinking whether I'm wearing the hijab for the sake of validation or for the sake of Allah swt. Till this day I still don't know the answer. I feel unattractive and not confident when I wear the hijab, I feel insecure because of my unattractiveness you know? But whenever I'm not wearing the hijab it feels like I'm betraying Allah swt and that makes me feel terrible aswell. I also don't see myself wearing the hijab in another 10+ years or so.. Fear of distancing from your loved one and loosing HIS love. 2. Thankfulness. 3. Patience. I think our whole life and this world revolves around this theory

I am appalled by some of these comments saying how these speakers are misguiding people. First of all the title is in quotes to explain that someone else has said that sentence. Second, the speakers are explaining different arguments presented against the Khimar. Then they go to explain what it says in the Qu'ran and Qu'ranic arabic and it's meaning. They never said to not wear the Khimar; the simply explained the difference between what the Hijab is and what the Khimar is. May Allah bless us and guide us on the right path and forgive us so we may enter Jannat ul-Firdos

Now that obsession is wrong on all levels, Hijab is Fard but Salah is a PILLAR the FIRST thing you will be asked about. And the punishment of it is mentioned in the Quran - “what has caused you to enter hell?” they will say “we were not of those who used to offer their salah” ~ Quran 74:42-43

Nothing for women is mentioned about "Cover your hair" just like Allah said for everything else "Don't drink alcohol" or "don't backbite" Allah would say it straight and clear ... But people look at their mum and say yes it 100% it doesn't mention any punishment for the Headscarf too like all the other things have been mentioned

Masha Allah , till date I have never regretted my decision the Hijab has been my source of empowerment, respect , dignity and Hijab protects females against any form of harassment. May Allah SWT make it easy for all female Muslims who have reached the age of puberty to wear hijab. May Allah SWT bless you and others propagating Islam in this world and next. Jazakallahu Khairan.

Havigaelle Joseph being disobedient doesn't warrant you good things that's not logical. Allah is not "love love love" like the Christians claim their god is. He loves and He hates. He punishes justifiably and rewards immensely. The doors of repentance are always open and can erase punishments if sincere.

You literally just said Khimar means covering, in what way does that mean headcovering? Some women culturally covered their head what does that have to do with religion? Isn't Islam supposed to be clear and apply to all times? Well this is confusing since Khimar means covering, and the example you used for the horse, that's the skin of the horse, it literally covers every inch of it's body including it 's face so it's not the same as the khimar drawn over the chest. And weren't also those other women attaching the khimar to their ponytail, aka not covering the hair? This just shows that khimar doesn't specify the hair and has a lot of different definitions in different contexts. What i'm saying is that the definition is confusing and the Quran only specifies covering the chest, so we can't say for certainty what the interpretation means, just like with a lot of other things in Islam, which makes it even more confusing. If it's something that applies to all eras it should have a clear definition of what/what not to cover because khimar was worn as a cultural thing and to this day culture is mixed with religious modesty because there is no clear definition of what should be worn.
