Same goes for marijuana smoke. I smoked weed heavily for a long time and quit recently, now I’m coughing up tar constantly. I don’t care what anyone says but that shit is bad for you too, no kind of smoke belongs in your lungs!

@@and3xghost895 it's worth it bro I started smoking at 13 years old and now I'm 22. I was smoking heavily everyday for most of those and I started to get very sick. My lungs were aching and got very damaged to the point where I feared cancer. God was trying to tell me to quit, I gotta be honest and mention God there because it's TRUE. And so I quit for 6 months but went back and got sick again after smoking for 1 month straight. I quit again for 3 months and started again and I got sick again started to lose lots of weight, lungs aching etc. That's the most recent thing I quit one week or so ago and now I'm coughing so much I have a headache and my throat got sore. It's not worth it bro it's horrible for ur health and girls dont find it attractive. It's a waste of money and it's really bad for your exercise if you love being in shape like I do. Weed just holds you back bro quit it is my advice and save your lungs and extend your life. You will gain weight(because smoking makes you skinny) become stronger and be able to exercise for so long compared to other people and that's very important in a fight to be able to last longer than the other person(usually, unless they are very skilled). Smoking is also very bad for your skin, hair, teeth etc. Its terrible... So god bless you my brother and please take care of the only body you will have it's not worth losing your youth and your life over some fucking weed. Be safe!

Thank you Dr. LeWine. I have repeatedly watched your video over and over again. Today is my 32nd day/night I quit smoking cigarettes finally. I have quit several times only to pickup this bad self damaging habit again. This time I hope that it's going to be my last because although I was told by my Primary Care Physician that I had signs of COPD, the CT CATSCAN Was very direct and said that I have Emphysema. I have been Caughing up Phlegm almost as much as when I still smoked Cigarettes. I wish that the Lung Lavage Treatment was recommended by more Doctors to help those like myself who basically self destroyed my Lungs. I still have shortness of breath when I carry something heavy and I have to exert my strength to lift. I have to pause whilst gasping for air. I still want to make sure that you know that your Video on KZread is important to me and I'm sure to others who are Seriously interested in quitting smoking or already have. I am going to "hang in there". I'm embarrassed and ashamed that I didn't have enough mind over matter strength to quit smoking before 32 days ago, but it is what it is. I have to keep my fingers crossed that my Lungs get a little bit better every day. So far it's been a struggle. Once again, thank you, because this video actually helped me quit smoking and I want to Thank you from my Heart & Soul Thank you again Dr. LeWine

I have watched this video to know what to expect when I finally Quit Smoking Cigarettes. Today is my 18th Day. I tried cold Turkey ironically right before Turkey Day, but I got Nicotine withdrawal headaches. I had Nicotine Patchs and I put them to good use. I have been Smoking cigarettes since 1976 (46 years). I am still Caughing up stuff, but I believe that my body is trying to clean my lungs. I have tried to stay away from smoke filled rooms and Nightclubs that allow Smoking. I sell flowers in Bars and Nightclubs at night and there's still places that allow for Smoking in designated areas and some in the entire Place. I have had to leave prematurely because my Lungs couldn't handle the Smoke. I was Caughing to the point that I couldn't talk to anyone. I have a CT Lung Scan appointment at the University Hospital of Cincinnati scheduled for next week. It's the follow up appointment. My Doctor told me that it wasn't too late for me to Quit and that I didn't have Cancer six months ago. I can walk in the appointment with some pride and dignity holding my head high, because I finally kicked the Habit with some help from everyone around me and my personal responsibility to heal myself from years of Smoking. I pray that I can recover in some capacity. I am inquiring about the Lung Lavage treatment that KZread has brought forth from the Cleveland Clinic. I don't know if I qualify or not. I will update this comment if I can.

If you quit and aren't coughing anything up at all. You need water green tea and garlic. Do breathing treatments. Force air into your lungs by gulping air and pushing it to the back of your throat forcing it into your lungs. This helps alot.

As for the spots, that's mucus, tar and all the bad stuff. The blood could be acute bronchitis. Nothing too bad, just inflamed cilia that are trying to heal. Congrats on quitting this filthy habit friend. I cut down from 15 a day to 2 cigarettes. Had blood in my spit once but i trust the process. Cigarettes also got a few chemicals that masks the actual damage that is being done. Some of these chemicals even dilate the bloodvessels, so you might ironically be gasping for air while quitting.
