    THANKS for the video. I'm in the US and Aqara doesn't sell the Roller Shade here, but was able to get it from UK Amazon. Second issue was the open/close chain wasn't a chain, but a 3mm cord. After some experiments I was able to use the 3mm chain roller and put some wax on the cord to make it a little grippy. So far working great.

    Hi great video as with all you work I’m trying to install these. But I’m struggling to find a joiner for the metal chain that will work with the Aqara roller mechanism. Can you tell me what you did as yours are working very well

  • @notenoughtech

    @notenoughtech

    There is a wheel which has slots for the beads. It worked nice with what I consider a standard chain in the UK. Yours might be different?

    How is the torque on these units? I went for a tube based motor from Zemismart to test two blinds as the torque was advertised and strong enough to drive a 2.8m span. Catch is that its wired, which is a pain to do a clean install, hence why I'm interested in these due to the battery operation.

    I see all of these types of actuators using cogs for beaded chain. The form of these is perfect for the blinds in my living room but they have a draw cord instead of a chain. Is there anyone that makes one that would work with a cord? Or will one of these work?

  • @notenoughtech

    @notenoughtech

    2 жыл бұрын

    One of them has slots that in theory should press the cord inside while moving creating sufficient friction. I don't have any to test unfortunately but I'm pretty convinced this would work

    Interesting. Hard to decide between this and the ikea blinds seeing I need to buy the blind as well. I’m thinking Aqara E1 are better in wired/charging mode and the ikea ones from wireless.

  • @notenoughtech

    @notenoughtech

    2 жыл бұрын

    If you ever move you can take aqara with you leaving roller behind. With IKEA .. you'd need a similar sized window in your next place. Something to consider. I found the better life to be excellent. Charged it once since the review by simply leaving battery bank connected overnight
