The Quickest Elk Hunt We've Ever Filmed | Montana Rifle Opener
Ойын-сауық
You've probably seen Jim Baichtal on the show before. Usually, it's deep in the bush of Southeast Alaska with his traditional black powder rifle. In this episode, he's trading the Hawken for a Howa and looking for any elk that is in his way. This is the quickest elk hunt we have ever filmed...

No nonsense hunt... He’s here for elk, there’s an elk there so he goes after it and gets it👍🏼
Invite this guy back, seems like he'd be a great guy to have on another episode!

Kudos that’s by far one of your best videos! Real world hunting right there. Cow hunts a beneficial and a get way to bring younger hunters into the sport. I’ve taken many Elk over the years and learned just like this. My Pop would get off work, we’d load up and go knock down a Cow. Some of my best memories! Don’t get me wrong I love a big bull but it gives the impression that a huge bull is around every corner. BTW Jim was a great asset and should be featured more. Heavy breathing, hunting the edge of private and making a close ethical shot is exactly how it’s done. Great Job

Congratulations Jim, any Elk will do. My kind of hunting, don't get me wrong, i certainly would not pass up a nice bull, but meat for the family is where it's at.
Glad Jim got something to take home! I’m sure he told you the story of his Idaho hunt with us. Bummer he didn’t find that cow. We certainly liked having Jim hunt with us!
I think each of Randy's buddies needs their own playlist... always the best.
Good ol' Marcus. Man that guy puts in some work throughout the season, huh? Nice elk to bring back home to Alaska! Someday I will go down that way to elk hunt as well.

Awesome stuff! 👌
Awesome to see. I already asked on Marcus’s IG page about him not using the Hawkins and he replied. Congratulations Jim on getting your elk. Much easier to pack and you don’t have to pay extra for antlers to be shipped back to Alaska. My youngest brother and I have thought about taking my 64 year old Dad to Colorado for a cow elk rifle hunt. We would have to buy another freezer though lol…. But still would be easier than trying to find a place for the antlers and even more meat 🍖 on a bull elk.
