I have seen only one sea horse in the wild and it took the divemaster pointing it out a couple of times before I could figure it out. They blend in so incredibly well!
Snow leopard is still my fav camo kitty. Super cute.

Shoutout also to the tiger, which is orange because its main prey species cannot see orange
The way these animals disguise themselves, millions of years of evolution to modify their bodies and behaviors to look like anything but themselves is so remarkable.
"you can't see me" -the animals in this video 😂😂

I use the hold my breath to turn invisible trick 😎
I got an electric shock yesterday when I stepped on an invisible fish in clear shallow water. I watched the sand-coloured shape swim away.

Makes it hard.. to pay attention
I once visited a cave and the tour guide said something along the lines of there are bats insects and an endangered cave newt that calls this cave home and while you will likely see a bat or insect it is extremely unlikely to see a newt. To which i replied, "you mean one of those?" and immediately found one on the cave wall. I was incredibly proud lol
that octopus stuffed itself inside the coconut shells & went for a ride for sh*ts & giggles
Cuttlefish are so awesome!! They’re the best sea critters out there
As well as camouflage, you could also do a video on mimircy

Pootoos turning into stumps and fenceposts during the day is my favorite. They have see translucent eyelids so they can conceal their eyes wide still keeping an eye on the predator.
“Do you see it? I’ll wait!” *immediately cuts to next clip *
- I paused at 4:20 I wish you guys showed each species more in depth in this episode, even though I know them all, I still love to see videos about these incredible creatures. ❤️
Are there left and right faced flounders? Like when the eyes start to transition from opposite to same side, is it always one way or is it 50-50 which side will swap?

That's a good question and the answer's not straightforward. There are several species of flounder. Some species lie mostly on their left side with the eyes on the right but some members do the reverse. Other flounders are the complete opposite i.e. most lie on the right with some on the left. As far as I know (and I'm not a marine biologist) all species have some variation.
Great video of observation, Aranya. I would say that for me, the octopus takes the crown of camouflage because the fact that they have cells that helps them change not only their color, but their exterior to match perfectly in their surroundings is ingenuity as its finest. For those of you who know, there’s a character in the IDW comics of Sonic the Hedgehog who is a shapeshifter because it happens to be a cephalopod aptly named Mimic. Hence proving my point. 🐙

Tawny frogmouths are some of my favourites. They’re so good at pretending to be sticks!
This should be called the basics of animal camouflage 😊
Camouflage isn't just to hide from predators, but also from prey. Plenty of apex predators use camouflage as well because they don't want to frighten their prey away.
Nature is mind blowing.
Is it just me or....is the host distractingly stunning!
You know, while not the most glamorous, I have to say that I'm most impressed by insects camouflaged as bird droppings. It's still baffling to me how this managed to evolve. Not the prettiest, but an impressive one.
Love this channel! Thank you and Cheers!
5:30 This is the Wunderpus, not the Mimic octopus but a closely related species.
So glad you're doing Second Nature again! I missed it!
Great job, Aranya! 😎👋🏿🙌🏿👍🏿
I saw the cuttlefish immediately 😂
I love the potoo. Their call is eerie, but they camo so well!
Great episode…I love the orchid mantis too.🖤🇨🇦
Fabulous episode. Thank you!
I wish I could disappear like a cuttlefish yet be able to be flashy when needed too.
It's always exciting to see a new video!!
6:09 Did bro just insulted a cuttlefish?

Your team is absolutely amazing! My kids and I love your videos😊
where have you been girl??, miss you
You're so adorable, even more than pygmy seahorses ^_^
This video content is amazing, relaxing and learning while watching🙂 Thanks!
THE LITTLE OWL GETTING HEAD SCRITCHES OMG
Those creepy eyes of a gecko! If perfect camouflage is to be spotted, it'd be due to eyes. It's curious for animals with a bizarre design of eye that they're seemingly visually-oriented predators.
Octopus are way too smart It's way too much. It's almost eerie.
Shame we couldn't see them in this video
Great presentation and info, as usual, Aranya! 😎👋🏿👏🏿🙌🏿
If u don't watch this the moment U saw it on ur feed u don't get the +stealth.
Is that one of the geckos that say "gecko!"?
6:09 Wow, they didn't need to do the cuttle fish dirty like that!
Was Sea Pony already taken when they were discovered?
That narrator just insulted the cuttlefish! They are pretty handsome!
Great video, but you should actually include pictures and clips of the featured animals next time.
The shadow hiding thing is crazy, I never thought about it

Do u know if planet wild offers bursaries for those wanting to study ecology and conservation
Cammyflaj is pretty cool.
The voice of Fritz Weaver!
What is that at 3:50? That is not a leafy sea dragon like the others. Is there variation within that species that I am not aware of? Is that another species? Or young have more divided appendages? Also the body looks less contorted and more straight. If you know tell me it is super cool!

I just found it, it's called ribboned pipefish (Haliichthys taeniophorus).
I’m currently painting a bald eagle. I think bald eagles would be an awesome video. These camouflaged creatures have been watching a lot of WWE lately, you can’t see me ! Cena
Camouflage mostly works for visible colors humans can see. If you were to look using infrared or sometimes ultra violet the world looks completely different.
Proceeds to bury myself in the sand. I am now one with nature.
Those pigmy seahorses look like animatronics
wow
She is so pretty.
The viz in this episode is top notch
RIP paleologic
Who else thought of the Monty Python "How Not To Be Seen" sketch watching this?
Still drax have a best camouflage
When Aranya said "pile of crap" I legitimately expected an animal that used faeces to disguise itself. Edit: Two seconds after I posted this... Aha!
octipis
You forgot me, I'll eat an octopus
I am so distracted by her outfit, girl plz ily but throw that away 😭❤️
Am I alone in being a little disappointed by the shift to slightly misleading titles & list-format content? This used to be a go-to channel for me, now it's half a step away from "here's the top ten animals that use camouflage!"
Did I hear her say “poisonous” sea snake? Really?
All those retro clips make “second nature” about as enjoyable as getting a filling at the dentist. After years of watching AnimalLogic and watching the channel grow, at this point, I’m only subscribed for FloraLogic, and if y’all keep adding in stupid retro clips to those too, not even Tasha makes it fun to watch. I wish you’d stop.
You mean flounder from the little mermaid isn't a flounder 😂
Animals are mammals.
How are trap door spiders camouflaged they're concealed in a trap door hence the name.
Title says I'll never see these animals, but the video shows me these animals. Does this count as clickbait?
And to think, all this came to existence from a big bang out of nothing, completely by accident.
are we camouflager to environment or are we too 'apex' lazy for it?
I wish there was a version of this video without the annoying music.
An attack tactic, so an attactic
What's with the music? Feels like I'm in a club lol not opposed to it but it just doesn't fit.
Openminded elk 35
A clipped toenail? Really?
You are so beautiful
HIII
Imagine a future when we've figured out (likely with ais help) how to absorb(etc) the DNA and genes that attribute to chromatophores and obtain their magical wicked epic POWWERRRS 😭😭😭❤️
I love writing things which aren't relevant on videos. 😂 What is relevant as well, I put on someone.
Marco. 📢. Polo . K📢
How did Arctic animals survive previous climate changes? For example the Medieval and Roman warm periods which were a lot hotter than today? Down Vote.
Love the video but can you not put the presenter in the middle of the screen when we are trying to look at the adaptations they themselves are narrating over? The point of the channel is to highlight the creatures of the natural world after all.
I too wish to disappear in the background.
