As far as it is currently known Arthropleura was an herbivore because they once found what seemed to plant spores in one of fossils

​@@BullShitThatIt's not impossible, but following Occam's razor, we have evidence of them consuming ferns so until there are evidence of them consuming other animals, they should be ruled as probably herbivorous (and it also makes sense as the largest animal of almost every land ecosystems, at least the ones that are able to support plant life, are herbivorous, so the largest animal of the Carboniferous forest probably was also herbivorous). It's not impossible it was omnivorous (and even herbivorous animals do still on occasion eat small animals), but it's more likely it was an herbivore

I hope hope hope that the local ancient life park orders a 2 and half metre long arthtropleura robot - I bet they could make it really cute! 😄 I used to life in this apartment complex which had a robotic lawn mower - and it kinda ended up. being everybody's common pet, it was really cute! They could make a slow and friendly arthrobot - that would be soooo cool!

Adorable notion! Something like that could also be used as a "tour guide" of sorts for smaller humans. Imagine walking with or (for the VERY small) riding on a giant arthropod as you move through a reconstruction of a Carboniferous swamp or forest!

The way that oxygen concentration limits an arthropod's size is the surface area needed to get oxygen into its blood. Higher oxygen concentration means that a smaller surface area to volume ratio is needed to support respiration.

Yes a LN pop up!!!!! You two are the perfect animal duo. Yall and zefrank are my favorite by far. Why cant they take this and put it in schools. Like 'fun' learning. My kiddos 4 and when he needs to learn about stuff like this its nice to have a go to place to make biology or whatever science this encompasses that makes it interesting and engaging. Dont get me wrong i know there r teachers out there that do that kinda stuff but they all should. School can be so damn dry and borning.
