Never fails to amaze me how K describes pleasure and its mechanical property. Pleasure is usually associated with wild and spontaneous and free and all of that lol. That level of seriousness that when inquiring together with K meets hits the spot when it comes to difficulty with addiction.

Pleasure can be experienced as both a passive and an active response in the brain. For example, some sensory pleasures, such as the taste of food, can be experienced passively and do not require conscious effort to register the pleasure. However, other pleasures may be experienced more actively and require conscious attention from the person to be registered, such as the pleasure of solving a complex problem or completing an important task. In summary, the registration of pleasure can be both active and passive, depending on the type of stimulus and response experienced. Thinking and memory are closely related but distinct mental processes. While memory involves the retention and retrieval of previously learned information, thinking is the cognitive process we use to process information and make decisions. It is possible for thinking to not recall specific information at a given moment, even if the information is stored in memory. For example, we may have difficulty remembering a specific word or name at a particular time, even though we know we learned it previously. However, it is important to note that thinking and memory are interdependent processes. Thinking can influence the formation and retrieval of memories, and memories can influence thinking and decision-making. Therefore, although thinking may not be able to recall something at a given moment, it may still be influenced by the information stored in memory.

We can overinvest in pleasure (attachment), and underinvest in liberation from excess attachment…

So sex is pleasure? Not an act of love or form ? Nd if it is a pleasure so perhaps is a waste of energy ?
