CLIP DESCRIPTION:
After being arrested for unpaid parking tickets, Chris (Will Smith) goes to his first interview with the firm in a wife beater and dried paint.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
The rousing, true-life story of a single dad who went from living on the streets to owning his own brokerage firm is brought to the big screen by superstar Will Smith, appearing for the first time opposite his real-life son Jaden Smith. Set in early-'80s San Francisco, the film charts the hard times and eventual comeback of Chris Gardner, a suddenly single salesman who has custody of his son, but finds that providing for the two of them is a challenge in the increasingly unstable economic climate. He struggles to work his way from unpaid intern at Dean Witter to something more substantial, even as life continues to offer him setbacks. Making his Hollywood debut, Italian director Gabriele Muccino was championed by Will Smith for the project.

i have been on multiple interviews. but if i were asked asked my suit is not prepared or wrinkly it is because i realized that first empression isnt always important and the way i dress doesnt mean how I do my job and doesnt define who i am. from my perspective the way he replied to the way he dress is not because of humor but he have reached rock buttom and lost hope but he never given up if he get the job he gets the job.

I love the “He must’ve really had some nice pants”. It’s not always about what you don’t have, but what you do have. Where one lacks, it can easily be made up for. That’s what people don’t get in this society. Everyone’s so stuck on having/meeting all of the criteria’s that society set out, that if you’re missing something it seems like you’re not worthy of any opportunity. Not sure if I’m saying this right, but you get what I mean

That's true. The reason why, i believe, i was hired for my last job. And still we joke with my friend, they have chosen the most crazy one. lol Btw i was nervious aswell, and the director told me , i should have a smile and that made me smile. At 2nd interview too, he noticed that i was a serious little boy, and made me smile again. :) He was very gentle and i feel that i didn't have that many exp as others do, but i integrated the french society in less than 5 years. Knowing to speak on 5 different languages. Maybe that was the reason aswell.

The critical mistake he made was saying that if he doesn't know the answer he will find it. Employers at that level for that job don't want someone who doesn't know the answer and has to go research it. They want someone who does know right off the bat. Time is money and ignorance costs.

@@kateSullivan3927 She got the job because she took a negative And pushed it to a postive And instead of thumbling around with who is who she cut out the middle man and went to the boss Which was also And still is one of the pardners in the firm For the receptionist SHe had no problem with throwing out the girfriends resume This means someone with out a job struggling to make ends meet has 1 less chance of getting a job Because You don't like them And have passed judgement on them When your role is to pass info onwards A resume is a document intended for the company Nothing to do with being slighted As i said in the first comment She smiled And walked back in This girl is smart If you seen the path she started on to where she is You would cry from a girl with only a father working 14hrs aday To her working at 12 and going to school and selling snacks while in school to help out To getting a degree in Eng, Leaving the poor area of Tondo Manila to getting into North America working a 24hr job with every other weekend off Then working 2 jobs And taking her CPA courses online and inclass testing ..Having a Polo shirt was a goal She bought one and wore it for 2 days Then washed it and sent it back home to her younger sister..As they only dreamed as they window shopped together years earlier Sending money home Because her father was too frail to work in boiling heat ..Someone that speaks perfect english and 2 other langauges that worked that hard was not going to let a gal with a issue stop her ,,sorry about the long post..but it gives you a taste of "Another man's shoes"

Is there another actor/actress with his resume and versatility? Everything he does, he does well. From the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, to Men In Black, to 7 Pounds, Ali, this and everything else. Music, sitcom, movies... Absolutely everything. He's my favorite actor.

In a lot of bad movies though. Hasn't been in a good movie for a while, for someone who's as good as an actor as him.

What I love is that even though his appearance suggests otherwise, all four of them can tell that the man in front of them has the potential to be on of the best

My openness and short falls didn’t stop me from attaining my job right now, I said idk when they asked me about a system I didn’t know about. But I also included that it’s was not out of my reach to learn, nor was it something I can’t learn. HR called and hired me that same day.

In a way it makes sense for the panel to consider Chris even when he's not dressed well. When being someone who deals with selling products you have to have a strong personality to make your pitch convincing. When someone likes you they'll be more inclined to take you up on offers.
