    New Sub from Philippines 🇵🇭 from Rosey’s Greenery channel ! Hi Anna! Thank you so much for this tips. I currently repotted mine coz it was not growing like the ordinary, lo and behold it was sitting on a very dense medium (my fault, I let it acclimate for 2 months 😬✌🏼) nways, thanks for the in-depth information about the purple heart. And yes, I love it’s deep purple color and it made it so easy to fall in love with it when it flowers!!! Thanks Anna!!!

    This was helpful, thank you! I placed one in a container and it's damaged from being cut by a lawnmower. I've been wanting to pot it for awhile after seeing that the other one stopped growing back. It seems to be thriving pretty well, a little leaf sprouted 😊.

    That's so cool. When you plant/repot them and after 1-2 weeks see that they grow already, put them under the sun, they thrive under the sun, as if they are succulents :) 🌸 mine is in full bloom now :)

    I'm sure you will be able to propagate it easily. They grow very fast. Perhaps, in water they will give roots easier. When they don't have roots yet, keep them in semi-shade, but once they are established and grow, you can move them under direct sunlight. That's when they get this very dark purple and grow thicker ;)

    I just recently potted a purple heart and it took off! i have it a medium pot and its more bush like than viney. Its purple on the outer rims of the leaves. Its very green and gets a good variety of sun and decent amount of water. Its outside on the balcony. Why is it soo green? is that bad?

  • @AnnasViolets

    Hi 2 questions 1. My cutting in water grew a new leaf at the node instead of a root and its been weeks with no sign of root but the new leaf is growing so well. What do I do? I don't dare plant it in soil without roots 2. My other plant was getting real tall so I snipped off a section at the top to propagate. Now there's an ugly cut stem at the top. Will that stem continue to grow?

  • @AnnasViolets

    @AnnasViolets

    2 жыл бұрын

    Hi Justin. Thanks for the questions. 1. If you do not want to plant it without roots, wait a little bit, it will grow roots soon. 2. The cut stem will not continue to grow, but it will grow new stems from side nodes and when they grow, hopefully they will cover the cut part. In the nature, plants are also not perfect, some stems are broken, some leaves are yellow and that's the beauty of it. :) I'm sure it still has beautiful and hairy purple leaves

    Hi ^^ thank you for this video ❤ 1. My plant always loses the leaves from the bottom.. so now I have a 20cm long stems with a leaves on the top.. what am I doing wrong? ☹ 2. Also, if I will cut the top, will the new branches start growing all along the stem or just underneath the cut? 🤔 I will be very grateful for you answer, cause I love this plant and much! 😊

  • @AnnasViolets

    @AnnasViolets

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes, you can cut the top and the branch will grow new side stems. You can also plant the top directly in the same pot so that the pot looks fuller. I think you don't do anything wrong. Losing the bottom leaves is a natural process :)

  • @AnnasViolets

    Hey Elaine, yes, you are absolutely right. The air humidity will help a lot. As the cutting doesn't have roots yet, it's a bit hard to get the required moisture. If it doesn't recover in a day or max 2, try to put the cutting in water. They give roots in water easier. You can also spray it now in the bathroom🌸

    @@abhirajsharmagardening7469 I'm no expert, (I just google or youtube everything to learn lol) but I know with other plants I've read/watched that the leaves can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol. The videos I saw were actually cleaning the leaves bc of mealybugs, (it was safe and effective) but as I've typed this I've heard her talking about being careful to not damage the leaves hairs...so Idk for sure about that. But I will say that I just grabbed some purple hearts stems outta my sisters yard YEARS ago and put them in a vase with other flowers, left them in for way too long after they all died EXCEPT the purple hearts, which had started growing and all. So I stuck them in a pot and put on a shelf in my kitchen and they've grown ever since with minimal care...and I mean minimal. Some of the vines were like 7 or 8 ft long and I had just looped them around for a while but I finally said "screw it" and pruned them back, and I'm ashamed to say I continued the "minimal care" bit and now they are back to being like 5 ft long lol. They are above my stove, my finace has actually burned a couple of the leaves by accident a few times and these guys are still growing. So basically to sum my long story up, lol, Im saying I think these guys are pretty hardy, I mean I'd try googling how to "properly" clean their leaves, but I'm sure they'll survive. My neglected and under appreciated ones are not perfectly beautiful (all my own fault) but they are definitely fierce and have a strong will to survive lol. But I'm here to make up for my mistakes, trying to learn how to prune and nurture them now and hopefully taking care of them will help take care of me as well. Good luck to you, tho! 💜🌱💜🌱
