Someone needs to write a whole lore essay about just how deep the rabbit hole of people who wanted Frank's family dead goes. There's just so many "Hey Frank, I know a guy who had a role in your family's death."

  • @DarkF4lcon

@@firesocius9309I can easily sum it up. Frank Castle was part of a clandestine unsanctioned unit called Cereberus lead by Rawlins in Afghanistan funded by heroin smuggled from Afghanistan and sold on American soil. It was suspected that he leaked the video of member of the unit torturing and killing an innocent Afghani informant to the NSA but that was a hacker who had to fake his death to escape. The person in the video Col. Ray was the primary funder of this unit and was also moonlighting as a secret drug kingpin called Blacksmith who’d make heroin deals. He used his criminal contacts to set up a massive drug deal with a few gangs while an accomplice tipped off DA Reyes about this. She organised a sting op, to bust them. Things went sideways (as planned as a cover to get rid of Frank) and in the resulting shoot out Frank’s family was killed. She later tried to cover up this massacre but failed when Col. Ray killed her when she found out Blacksmith’s identity and threatened to expose him. Billy Russo, his best friend and partner in Cereberus knew about this entire assassination plan but refused to personally assassinate Frank because of his friendship. Still he kept quiet. Frank woke up from a bullet to the head he incurred during the shoot out and killed everybody responsible for his family’s death. The end.

@@jpo1965 Schoonover had a secret. Upon his return to the United States, he had become a drug lord - the most powerful in New York City. He went by the name of "The Blacksmith." But, not only had he turned away from the righteous path and into a life of crime, he was part of that infamous Central Park shootout that killed Castle's wife and children. That shootout wasn't just another day in the gang wars of New York. It was actually a stakeout that had gone terribly wrong. The D.A., Samantha Reyes, had arranged a sting in hopes of unmasking The Blacksmith, and pulling down most of the organized crime in the city. Instead, they wound up with a massacre in Central Park. Schoonover had been keeping the fact that he was involved with the death of Castle's family a secret from his subordinate. Despite testifying on Castle's behalf, Schoonover was secretly relieved when the conviction came down.

Frank was going to make them pay and he was going to meet his family in a park where a new hit squad was waiting where frank didn't get there on time so the hit squad killed his family disguised as criminals. Yes.....We have had so many who didn't get their due .....it's strange but most of the scenes or lines we remember didn't have the star in them.....do the research on them... you'll find people who serve in military .... never said a peep about saving others or wounds ect ....Charles Bronson,Eddie Albert, Charles Durning ,even people who drove one ton trucks or flew planes... to military bases...or worked OSS... like JuliaChild... they did what needed to be done.... they were not sunshine patriots nor bragged and most would say the real heros are the ones who didn't come home.
