The Pulse - Govts Schools Vs Private Schools

...An often heard refrain in the indian society is why should we send our children to govt schools, we can afford and therefore why not a private school , what will the people say if my child goes to a government school becuase only the poor and underpriveleged , go to such schools. .. its exactly this mindset that we are going to talk about in todays show . According to the latest Annual status of education report the gap between private and government schools students’ learning ability has been widening and that almost 29 per cent of rural students choose to pay around Rs 100 to private schools to get education. so how can we bridge the inequality between private and govt schools, all this and much more on this week's episode of the Pulse

I'm from Hazaribag district of jharkhand. At first I would like to give lot's thanks to rstv from the bottom of my heart for this valuable debate. In my district here's also lot's of government's school merge together according to NITI commission programme due to this reason lot's rural children's they are not going to school and suffering from many problems. Here's teacher's also in strike since two months, but our State government they are not taking any initiative to improve the quality education. This is one of the worst government of jharkhand till now.

1.Government has to start english teaching from first std 2.Improve the infrastructure. It is main issue 3.Any job central, state or private sector should give first preference to government school student. It will attract the student and parents to come towards govern school.

Well point made by tripati sir... Private and government schools are not separate. Both are the schools of this nation. Just with afloated terms we shouldn't degrade or appreciate with poor collection of numbers. I don't think great infrastructure enough can change results. Only the real and concrete involvement of top to bottom commitment will bring that change. It's important that policy makers to policy implmentors should equally responsible for this to happen. I think a more comfort zones with out a proportionate skill set is a dangerous possibility... Thank you rajyasabha for bringing what exactly media has to do...

I m very obliged for working of RSTV to raise this issue but at the same time a have word to say is that the 70% of our people of india is living in rural areas and their language of communication is hindi or one of the 22 scheduled languages of our constitutions therfore this whole discourse should b in hindi also so that our rural guardians can also known abt the real situation.as far as the education is concerned i totally agree with every single statement of ms. rampal mam she picked d real issuse and according to me the equal education system would b the real solution whereby education would not b a commodity like amount of money equal to amount or quality of education...we r spending a very less percentage of amount of budget,it should b atleast 10% of our total budget.

You visit China. Obviously you won't learn Chinese if you are planning a short visit. Same is the case with Germany or Italy. So what languge do use if you don't know the regional language. English. Used by people around the globe. It eliminates the problem of learning a new langugae just to interact with the locals. N be honest. How many languages are you going to learn if you are planning trips to different places. All of em??. Nope. So you need one main language to interact with people around the globe. N that is English.

Everyone should think once - " Things, where are we lagging behind and what is biggest factor that affects us adversely? Most of us would realize that the real concern is 'Education'. Mass education programs have became outdated in this competitive world as per the demands of time. So, we must rethink on our present education system. First thing we can do is to fix the accountabilty of the stakeholders at different levels of hierarchy from top to bottom. As obvious, teachers are the most important stakeholder in the system b'coz of their important nodal position where they are with maximum liability. Now, it got clear that where we have to focus upon ,it's not much on Children, parent, management etc. It's upon the 'Academicians' ! So, Efficient investment on making good academicians and then, proper harnessing of their intellect can make a way ahead. This dynamic factor can make things better as they are today. Now we come on ' Children' , they are second position stakeholder because ultimately they are direct beneficiaries . "Children are the father of nation " - I quoted this, without making our children capable of thinking what's good what's bad, we can't blame them for their reluctance towards education. It should be obligatory for the government to provide better facilities to make level up. Now, about the third driver - 'Parents' . They are intermiditaries between previous two which we have discussed, due to their role here they generally find themselves in dilemma that what's good for their ward and what's bad. Here society is very much effective from behind the scene, to explain it further I want to take an example which is like this - " Parents' mentality to send their ward in a private school has became obligation on them because people think only if you are teaching your child in private school only then you are taking care of him/her as parents. " It's reality and we can't escape from that private schools are getting priority over government schools not only because of this mind set but the strong point here is the quality provided by private schools as compared to the government schools. They are ready to pay more charge but they are not ready to compromise with their ward's future. Last but you can say the crucial one - 'Government'. System needs a better management and implementation on the ground, so that it can deliver better results. Proper monitoring of the investments at ground level is very much needed, so government should assure inclusive effort at community level and try to change the mentality of the people that the education which government is providing is not free. It's harsh reality to accept that government spends more money per child as compared to private schools, due to lack of proper investment of government's money you can say tax payers' money or ultimately say your money, is going in vein. Education should be ethics driven. One thing we must ensure in our present education system is - 'Ethics' , as a driver. By teaching our children mathematics and science, we are making them more reasonable and logical but get fail in disseminating those values which are really needed to sustain those logical reasonings. And that's the reason, our school education system has became a factory to make robots from beings. Must read!! 🇮🇳 Sandeep Gupta

The Main problem lying in government schools is these are not in english medium education ,and now a days no parent wants his or her children to study in other than english medium. But our governments force poor, rural people of india to send their children where even teachers dont know basic english. Capitalisation of education has damaged rural india.
