It's actually, as always at the tideline a good lesson for all. This is at the point of maximum rate of flood tide. Paradoxically, the tide change is minimum at high tide and minimum ebb tide.

I would envy me too, but alas I must envy our friends that we stayed with during this trip. Where we live in California is at least an hour's drive from the beach.
