Felt the same way for a while too, my ps5 was collecting dust. I just picked up returnal and it is actually solid. 60 hours in and still having blast. Ratchet and clank is right around the corner too which looks incredible. Next gen is just getting started.

facts. been playing Returnal a bit and i mostly like it, it just started to feel repetitive to me after awhile. i also HATE the Ui of the system lmao but that's just me. PS4 ui was excellent. i can't wait for R&C though, thats a automatic Platinum for sure. but yea, i've been heavy on the XSX lately though. regardless of all the shit people give and talk about MS and Xbox, their console imo is top tier. the Ui, while the same it's always been is flawless for me, plus gamepass lol. i've been putting hours into trying to 100% old favorites but i know, it's gonna sit for awhile when R&C comes out in a few weeks haha

Those are not old games. Gamepass has old games to new games.

"Sony, please make something like Gamepass!" That is next to impossible for Sony to do without losing a metric fuck ton of money. There is one thing I wish gamers would realize and put front and center in their thinking when it comes to Playstation and XBox: Financially speaking, Microsoft supports XBox while Playstation supports Sony. If XBox didn't have the tremendous financial backing of Microsoft then the terrible generation that XBox had with the XBox1 would have been extremely crippling for the brand. There would have been no XBox1X and there certainly wouldn't have been the massive spending spree to acquire new studios or the R&D that they put into cloud gaming. XBox was a financial drag on Microsoft last gen that they're hoping will turn into a boon this generation with their current strategy, and to their credit they seem to be on track. That being said, it's still one of the much smaller segments of revenue within Microsoft and it's been living off the massive profits of Microsoft as a whole to stay alive and to now take massive risks. Playstation on the other hand IS Sony's golden egg laying goose. It is the most profitable division within the corporation and one of the few electronics that Sony hasn't severely misstepped with over the decades. It's the main reason why Sony is very risk adverse when it comes to the console. Playstation doesn't have the luxury of going deeply into the red on a strategy that they hope will put them firmly in the black later, which is one of the main reasons they lead heavily with quality exclusives. Something like Gamepass would be financial death to them. Sony simply doesn't have the money to make the behind-the-scenes deals it takes to get enough new 3rd party games day one upon release on a subscription service to make it appealing, and doing the same with their 1st party titles would sink them. Now, it's very clear that Sony is going to have to do something to up their game to stay relevant in the gaming landscape, but whatever that might be is very murky right now. At any rate, we really need to stop looking at these two brands like they have the exact same options because they don't. To be honest, the fact that Playstation has been able to continually trounce it's direct competitor despite XBox having the benefit of such ridiculously deep pockets is a testament to the brand's strength. And can we have more patience than to judge consoles and their line ups 6 months into their life cycle? Year 1 is typically weak with maybe a handful of B, possibly B+ contenders. The XB1's first year offerings were very "meh" and the PS4 was Remaster Central so if you were truly playing as much as you claimed in the beginning with those two consoles it was probably because you were still high off the amazing 7th console generation like we all were. I swear, with all the negativity that's been constantly thrown at both PS5 and XBSX/S it feels like this generation has been dragging on for 3 years now instead of 6 months. Just sit tight. It's going to get a lot better for both consoles over the next couple of years, which is pretty much how just about every other successful generation worked in the past. Why so many gamers are acting brand new to the industry is anyone's guess.

@Mychannel Don't let that addiction grab you is what I would advise. That's why gaming can be so destructive to a person's drive and sense of purpose. Right now because it's a new toy, you may need to "get it out of your system" as it were, but once you do that, you'll realise those games aren't going anywhere. Those experiences on the console aren't terribly unique and the time could be better spent doing something creative or productive. As long as you learn to limit gaming, it's not a problem.

This is my first time owning a console this early from release, I’ve had my ps5 from March and I love it but this is my first time going through the beginning stage where no games come out

I raised up with ps1 then ps2 .switch tot xbox 360 now playing on xbox series x. I know how you feel

My PS5 is still going strong I've had zero problems with it

My ps5 just sits there and is now a £500 home to a spider! It's been a complete waste of money and because I have the Xbox series X I haven't even bothered with the ps subscription. Sony needs to get their act together! It doesn't feel like a super powerful fun games console it just feels like a rip off.

I agree just give it time it usually take about a full year or two before develepors start tapping into the true potential of the systems hardware.. Its been like for every console that dropped.

I tend to have problems with WiFi on my PlayStation 5 and I know it’s not my internet because my WiFi on my pc is what it should be. I’m getting around 30mbps out of 150 mbps and I’m not sure if it’s a fault with my PlayStation or if this is a problem in general.

Don’t buy one yet it’s a bad idea. Buy one in a few years it will be cheaper and most issues would be fixed. Exclusives drop in price like Ubisoft games as well so everything will be cheaper.

That’s his opinion. I’m playing my PS5 way more than I did my PS4 when it came out. I own both PS5 and Series X and I’m playing way more on the PS5. He said that Returnal it’s not worth the $70 and to me it is because I’m having so much fun with that game but that’s my opinion just like he has his.

I understand but I manly think this is due to lockdown from the lack of exclusives or new games in general and soon we will start to feel those emotions again, I mean ratchet and clanks is coming in 2ish weeks and that’s the first ever ps5 exclusive, then god of war, then Lego Star Wars, then Harry Potter, then little devil within, then death loop, then horizon 2, then Gotham knights, there are rumours of a new uncharted and a ghost of Tsushima and more, it’s very slow pace now but as soon as lockdown is over, the line chart will go up by stonks

My 6 months with ps5 were amazing! I love this console but i am a lit bi disappoited that GranTurismo 7 has been delayed ! With ps plus i have over 30 games waiting to be downloaded and currently i am playing online RocketLeague and single player GOW. The only thing that i am still missing is the game optimisation for the ps5 controller!!!!! I will give ps5 score 9/10

U know this video was uploaded the day I got ps5 and one month later I 💯% agree with what ur saying now realising it not any big games and barely of my friends have it.

Xbox 360 was the best generation for me. I barely touch my ps4 now so theres really no point getting the new one.

i kinda agree tbh. was expecting ps5 to be a massive improvement but the difference between ps4 and ps5 versions of games are so minimal, and the "enhanced" games arent all that different either, uncapped fps and maybe slight texture upscaling, thats it. quite a shame really. Sony need to bring PS NOW to Australia, that is pretty much the equivalent to game pass

Hi everyone. Just got one of each console and wish to share my experience. I’m not a fanboy of either as I bought both. I got my XSX last week and have really been enjoying flight simulation and quite a few of my old games which are now XSX upgraded free. I really loved the quick resume feature and the dashboard is clean and customisable. Graphics and frame rates were awesome and I got Madden 2022 and it’s incredible. Got my PS5 yesterday. Discovered there was no quick resume feature and only one of my many games qualified for a PS5 upgrade. The controller is great but to me it’s more a gimmick as it depends on devs incorporating it into their games and how many have done that with previous controllers? So there is the demo but then I can’t find another game which uses the technology. Sony put so much of PS5 content behind a massive paywall that although I bought a PS5, I can only play PS4 games because none of my games are receiving an upgrade to PS5 so I must spend well over A$100 for most PS5 games. But with Microsoft I have Gamepass and EA so I can access dozens of new generation games for a very small Price. Also I don’t like the new os.

I agree with everything Chmap said. Playstation is selling because of scarcity and hype, I would really like to see the console's attach rate over the past six months. I have gone through hell to get my hands on the PS5 and when I finished Astro, that was it. I only started playing again when I got Immortals Fenyx Rising with my PS4 purchase of the same game but nothing else. The only reason why I'm not fully regretting my purchase is that I bought it at MSRP. But call me underwhelmed so far. I'm looking forward to Ratchet and Clank to breath some life into the console again. On the same note, I have to admit that Sony hasn't been making it easy to like them recently with many anti-consumer decisions so that is psychologically also adding to my frustration with them. On the other hand, the Series S/X have only one exclusive so far which is OK but not great, but then the INSANE value you get out of Game Pass is not to be underestimated. My advice to anyone out there if you're going out of your way to get either a PS5 or an Xbox Series console is to get the Series instead if you can find it for MSRP, if not, stick with an Xbox One X and just subscribe to Game Pass and you'll be good to go for years! Trust me! Until things change drastically, I am not changing this opinion.

My ps5 was collecting hella dust i turnt it on for the last time to see the difference from the ps5 and my pc graphics and I didn’t see a big difference so I sold it and switched to pc games and I been using my pc way more than my ps5 I’ll just stay on pc plus pc online is free!

What's the ps5?

I personally feel at this point, 3 and a half years later, that the console still has barely any games, if I played all the exclusives I still wouldn't get much use. The controller feels cheap and flimsy, with sharp and uncomfortable angles, the PS4 controller felt so much more solid and comfortable. But then the games, even now, nothing looks like it's pushing the console or making it work, it's just PS4 graphics with 4k resolution which if you play on PC with a 4k monitor like I do, playing and old game at 4k doesn't make it next gen, it's only half a step above what the game would be at 1080p.

Personally I missed out on the PS5 :( .... So I bought a oculus quest 2 instead. I'm so glad for it too!!

No games? If you're counting all the previous gen titles in gamepass you should also count all the older previous gen titles in psnow and the 4000 ps4 games that the ps5 will play. Psnow is half the price of gamepass and has twice the amount of games.

There is more dowloadable games on PS NOW than gamepass, plus you can play it online without paying extra money and it's cost you only 10 dollar a month and 60 the year.

Yah I am not paying $80 for returnal neither. My Xbox series s has been getting more use then ps5. Why because Microsoft allows you to gain points for playing games and exchange that for gift cards. I’ve recently played games I’ve never thought of playing or even buying.

My only reason of getting a PS5 is for GT7 other than that I'm not paying $70 for more games which equates to r1500 (with our outrageous taxes) in South Africa . I'm waiting for excuses from others like "games cost more to make" No, they really don't ☺️, they're becoming greedy.

It’s always fun to get a console on launch but then later on you realize why couldn’t you just wait untill more games comes out reason why I held off on getting the ps5 for that reason alone plus faulty systems on launch too

The PS4 felt light the first 6 months or so and didn’t allow to finish games from PS3. Game pass could be hugely negative for large open world games in the future. No one would create them if there isn’t a model to support them

I personally think new Playstation 5 is a disaster. It’s underpowered, it’s huge, it’s beyond ugly, it’s wrongly marketed for 4k which kills any possibility to actually use it’s resources for graphics, it has no games. Why everybody is still kissing Sony’s ass is beyond me. Ratchet and Clank, Horizon forbidden… Blah Blah Blah, THESE GAMES ARE NOT NEXT GEN and I don’t care what anyone else has to say about it, 100 percent these games are current gen and some ps 4 games look even more impressive.

It doesn't have next gen titles? Your friends aren't on it? 1) it does have EXCLUSIVE titles that are next gen. 2) Playstation has always been about great single player experiences. Idk kinda sounds like you got your consoles mixed up for the last 4 years.. I'm a PC/Playstation user. Anyone who has been gaming long enough knows that's where the sweet spot is.

I don't even have a PS5 & I can also agree 😟 & that hurts because im 100% a PS Fanboy. I've been a PS gamer since 1995 or 1996, one of them years & never looked back. I also had the original first XBOX & XBOX360 & my 360 is like new because I never really played it. Maybe 80 hours worth of play time on my 360. But im just gonna continue to play my PS4 Pro for now,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

The series X feels way more next gen than the PS5 because of FPS boost, quick resume, auto HDR on even old 2001 games, series S alone has like 7x more 120fps games than the PS5 and that’s just crazy to think about since the series S is only $300, Xbox is lacking on AAA exclusives right now but starting with Infinite that’ll change for sure

I had the opportunity to buy BOTH next gen consoles I personally couldn't care less about the "graphics"-"GPU"-"4K Rendering" I just want to play games that cater to me & both consoles as of NOW lack that Open world Story Driven RPG/Looter action adventure/shooters akin to Mass Effect/Borderlands/The Division/Diablo Detective Games akin to Sherlock Holmes/CSI/LA Noire/Phoenix Wright & Especially Visual novels like danganronpa Once these types of games become available I'll cop both consoles

I'm reconsidering getting it (whenever that becomes available) I'm hoping they crank up the games next year

Its such a bullshit enough good games and a lot more to come.

I get the pain and disappointment but the problems with scalpers and next gen delays is an unfortunate event and was not present when ps4 came out. Playing games with friends is a massive selling point and if they managed to get XBX then either they got lucky or scalpers did not hit that console as hard. Pretty sure figures shows that the PS5 is the fastest selling console and if these scalpers and pandemic did not exist then things would be different.

Same. I preferred the PS4 by a mile last gen. This gen Series X is my primary console and I didn’t expect that. I buy most third party on there and things like fps boost especially which makes older games feel fresh, and Game Pass, there’s just a lot there and the ecosystem is amazingly built. PS5 is just for whenever they release exclusives I’m interested in at this point. Didn’t expect that. If I had known when they were hyping up all the new titles coming up last year that they would be years out, I may have got my hype levels in check. Right now we just feel like we’re in an in between place in gens. Not quite last gen but not anything next gen. Sony has only a couple titles I am interested in on PS5, and most of what I played on it were like Days Gone at 4K 60, which is a must play on PS5, among others. XBox and Sony are both relying on future titles, but XBox has me at the in between game time with it’s services and third party playability. To be fair almost everything has been delayed in both first and third party. So we’ll be at a year into the gen and still have not much at this point. Unless they extend the gen that’s like 20 percent of the usual 5 years or so and like a third or so of the usual time to mid gen refresh that we still feel like we’re waiting. Even then we only get a few top tier titles a year really and XBox seems like it will fill the time in between quite well. Fps boost is big for me and I’ve bought a dozen older titles that got boosted and they feel fresh at 60. The quantity and frequency of those releases has been great, and Sony should do more of it’s own first party with fps uncaps. Definitely pick up the console or consoles of your choice if you can, but know you’re not really missing much just yet. PS5 only feels like a step above the Pro at this point and many games don’t look or feel that much different than they do on the Pro. We’ll see a lot more from both consoles though and both are great, but it’s the game delays that are making this feel weird this far into the gen. But yah XBox def surprised me and I’m glad to see them on their way back up and becoming competitive again. If they can hold their own against Sony in first party, maybe not the ridiculous bangers Sony focuses on, but at least in quantity and scale they’re set up nicely because aside from exclusives, which PS5 desparately needs as it’s it’s selling point really, XBox does almost everything else better. One example is fps boosted games I mentioned above. Getting hyped for Dying Light 2, so being able to go back and play Dying Light or even Dead Island Definitive Edition at 60 fps is much more palatable and time worthy than playing at 30. I had to actually buy the game again on XBox as playing at 30 on PS5 didn’t feel right.

I'm not a fanboy by any means. But the features that the series x has, has brought me back to old titles because the look and run soooooo good

I use both, always have but nothing will ever make me enjoy xbox user interface, despise the tile system, too cluttered. Regardless of what console you use a big part of what you use will be because of what system your friends use. It's all about personal preference at the end of the day and people shouldn't bitch at other gamers because of a system they prefer

I'm playing my ps5 while my one x has been collecting dust for weeks even with game pass ultimate. To each his own.

@@MrMarz82 90% of gamepass games are games I either already own or have no real interest in. Halo/forza/gears are nice to have but I've never been much into gears and the other two have gotten progressively worse with each release. Simply put if someone is looking to enter the console life for the first time the series x makes the most sense, but as someone who's owned xbox products since 2007 there is little more than a power bump there for current gen owners (especially a one x, as its still fairly capable when it comes to new titles.)

I’ve been playing on XsX and my PS4 pro has been collecting dust. I login once a month to get the ps+ games of the month which have been fire this year. Quick resume, FPS boost on the XsX has been a game changer for me for a lot of my back catalogue. The $ I save from GPU I get to spend on Nintendo and PlayStation exclusives

I got my PS5 for free due to a shipping error and I still feel this system wasn’t worth it. The constant copying and downloading massive files sizes and hours of waiting for the downloads is a joke. Games are ok but they are all the same really and not that exciting. Honestly will probably just sell it and stick with my switch.

The hardware itself is great but yeah we need a gamepass alternative and it sucks that there are so many game delays because of covid so theres no games rn

Buddy I'm 49 years old I'm always been a gamer I've lost some good friends on my PlayStation 4 my ears some fallouts and Southern passed away with cancer I still kept a lot of those friends still on the PlayStation and they won't change over anything I will be there for them as PlayStation be there for me as for everyone else yes they do need to change few parameters on the PlayStation, what about steam I like to see PlayStation to team up with Steam, I would like to see that for PlayStation

I dont like when ppl say they're disappointed with a console that hasnt even been available for a year. Whether its PS5, XSX/S.. like just give them time. I got a friend with an XSX, and he says there's no games outside of gp but he says he has to give it time.. which is the point I'm tryna make here. I love my PS5, bout to cop another one for my wife.. yeah the game lineup isnt perfect but technically we're still in the launch state lol.

This is why PS5 is a disappointment, unlike the Xbox it was never restocked after the initial release in February. Yes, the PS5 was launched 3 months after the Xbox

I don't think sony are willing to dump as much money as something like gamepass would cost for PS. Microsoft has like infinite money so they can take risks like gamepass, but for sony it would be a HUGE risk. I see them either half-assing it and it being pretty disappointing or continuing with their way, focusing on ultra high quality AAA exclusives.
