Is it brass? Looks like pure copper to me, brass has a more yellowish colour to it

Lovely handcraft, a piece of art. Here in Europe the insides of copper kitchen containers are always tin plated. This doesn't seem to be the case in Japan.

@@BallTripper yeah, it makes some rather toxic and bad tasting compounds when it reacts with anything acidic. Back in the day romans used lead lined pots which also reacted with vinegar but unlike copper acetate actually sweet but deadly because it was lead

Думаю, его и в Японии сложно купить. Это небольшая мастерская, возможно, семейная.

@@user-if2ni9rb5s да что вы говорите?), Не зная предмета, не нужно утверждать так категорически, возьмите медную посуду нагрейте её, естественно чтобы в этой посуде что-то было, а потом проведите химический анализ содержимого. А почему люди делали посуду из меди ,если она такая вредная, можете вы , вполне резонно, задаться таким вопросом, ответ элементарен -потому что медь очень удобный в обработке материал, не более.
