I have a 2001 S-Type. Barely 106 thousand miles. Back seat NEVER sat on. 23 years old and looks as clean as this one when finished.

Sometimes doing this to an older quality car is better than buying new. Should be more people like this around, you guys are quality.

Maintaining a car correctly for 23 years, driving a vehicle that appears to be in almost new condition, there's a certain amount of pride and satisfaction that money can't buy. Once finished, I grew bored with it and sold it to my neighbor.

Anyone wanna guess the labor cost on this project? The attention to detail is amazing, it probably looks better than when it was new.

They do tear down restorations in Spain and France that leave the car modernized, rust free, with renewed interiors, new electronics, wiring, and in better than factory new condition. I guess if you have enough money, there's someone who can provide the service.

This my favouite car. I've owned two. The one I have now is a 2004 3.0 V6 sport. I would love to get mine restored. It's got an air leak between the MAF sensor and the left bank that that gives an intermitant engine warning light, I have not a clue how to fix it.

@@denniswanjukimuthui5810 Have you tried a full reboot! Getting the gearbox adaptions cleard can help, but you will need to put some "gentle" miles on it so the gearbox will learn your way of driving. I purchased a cheap diagnostic reader (£30:00 ebay). Its very basic, but it will give you a rough idea whats going on and you can clear the ABS warning light. A common problem with S Types of this age is the ABS sensor. All you need to find if one is failty is a continuity tester or multimeter. After you remove it that is. They are cheap (£13:00 ebay) and easy to change. My apologies if I am telling you what you already know. KZread is a good educator.

Why would a 2001 Jaguar need a "full restoration"? Then again, it's a Jaguar, I did my apprenticeship with Jaguar in the 80s and wasn't impressed, everything that could go wrong did go wrong, especially on the XJ6. I drive a 1992 MB W124 with 220k km and it definitely does not need a full restoration, friends have even older MBs, including a 50s Ponton, which drives better than many modern cars.

Dismantling an engine and your staff are wearing trainers on their feet. You give them uniforms and no safety gear. You do not care about your employees.

To be honest, after living in Dalian (China) for a while with my chinese wife, I think they really have a great facility and great working conditions, but I see your “western mind” point. Most of the time, the workers themselves, don’t want to wear the individual protection equipments because they don’t feel comfy and furthermore, the regulations are way more relaxed. Once I saw a guy replacing a fuel pump while smoking, so the safety standards are different 😅
