    高いなぁ…と思うけれど、この行程を見れば納得ですよね。片面しか染まらないプリントは、色や柄は複雑でも、ちょっと違う気がする。かまわぬさん、好きですよぉ。

    注染はこんなに手間のかかる技術だったのですね。 日本手ぬぐいが好きで100本程持っています。選ぶのは注染一択!使えば使うほど柔らかく馴染み、使い心地が良くなります。 プリント手ぬぐいも素敵なものが沢山ありますが、使い心地という点では注染に及びません。

    Tengui, a scarf tied around the head ( sorta like a wider sweat band). I wore them when I was a Ramen cook

    I don’t think I’ll ever afford buying new Japanese prints textile but I will definitely look for the alternatives in thrift stores. Such great process of printing that I never understand. Seems very complicated and hard. Makes me to question why we value the mass production cheap prints instead of traditional Japanese prints

    Tenugui are multi purpose cloths. You can use them as hand towels, something to wipe off sweat, tie it into a makeshift pouch if needed, and so on. They dry quickly, especially because they aren't hemmed.

    Japanese tenugui are used like towels and handkerchiefs. Tenugui has a beautiful pattern, so some people decorate it like a tapestry.

    上から染料注いで、下からそれを吸い込むことで沢山の布を一気に染めてる。裏返して同じことをすることによって両面が鮮やかに染まる。柄の周りを糊で囲むことで染料が他のとこに行かないようにしてる。
