We made a ballet + street dance film that won’t make you cringe! 😬

I agree and understand Misty‘s point. For example, the movie “Save the Last Dance“, with Julia Stiles, who was cast as a dancer, had choreography that combined ballet and hip-hop. The choreography had cringy, awkward moments and it was worse because Julie was not a natural or classically trained dancer. I think the writer felt it was necessary to incorporate both dance styles to sell the interracial relationship she was in with a young black male, the sell was not necessary though. Funny enough, that movie is still a favorite of mine. As far as mixing dance genres, I do think that when done properly it works, for example, the movies West Side Story, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, The Nutcracker and Sweet Charity. When watching the dance scenes, of those movies, the meshing of all dance styles ballet, jazz, modern and african is executed so well and easily. I enjoy deciding what dance eye to use while viewing. I get to choose the dance I see each time watch those movies and more. It just shows how all dance styles are related. Love it!❤️
