I know what you mean, I moved from a city with 1M people to 40,000 I really really really underestimated how the online landscape would be worse than it already was I'm male so it's even worse for me

It's even worse now I have moved to the seaside :-(

I'm in a town of 3,500 and as far as I can tell, there are no single young women here, period. Between 18 and 35 they're all married. Thankfully there's a metro area about 30 minutes away, but it's still tough. Essentially any relationship will be a long-distance relationship. I'm willing to deal with that, but I've found that the women in the city generally aren't willing to deal with it. There's no real social life here, either, so anything social I do also entails a 30+ minute drive. I liked this town when I first moved here, but the social factors are making me want to move. I wish I'd known this before I moved here. I bought into the whole idea that "everyone in a small town knows each other," but that's only true if you grew up there. If you're a newcomer, there's very, very few ways to get to know anyone.

Same, I moved in to a smaller town as the rent was cheaper, but it has a knock on effect over your social life and dating pool etc.

I live near London but usually stick to towns and cities outside of it as the competition is not as high compared to a city of 8 million people. I think the optimal population is 100,000-500,000. Big enough to play a numbers game, but small enough that i'm not competing with too many men.

I am in a small city in Canada about 16000, and I understand what you are saying in this video very much. One other thing that you missed as well is that most people are very picky with who they are looking for in a partner. So this makes meeting someone even very challenging let alone finding someone to date.

30,000 people, I'm living in a tourist destination town of 550 people, 150 of which moved here in the last ten years. If run those same Numbers that leaves roughly 180 possibilities 😂. No wonder I just sleep around with tourists.

Things are more difficult if you belong to a particular church and live in a tiny town in a low population region. There are possibly 80 people under 40 in my entire state which belong to the same Church as me. Most of them are already married and if we remove the single men that leaves me with under ten! Slim pickings...
