Even using the same gear, every guitar player has different sounds and vibes. The more we look into the rabbit hole, the further we are away from enjoying playing. Thank you for providing us with help in getting sounds either way. Most of us *don't need a collection of guitars or amps* , but we do need to find the love of playing.

Thank you for making a whole video to answer my question and alleviate my confusion. I feel honoured, and know that many other Kemper owners had similar questions. As you have said, “more is more” and much more choice. It gives us a full pallet of colours to choose from. I am sure that more tone/gain stacks will be added over time, but no rush. We already have the best product on the market, and it just keeps getting better. Thank you guys. Really appreciated.

Would still love an official Tone Junkie take on how to match the closest approximation of the available Kemper Amp models to the suite of existing non-liquid profiles in the TJ catalogue to convert them into an LP. Like a historic retrospective to give us a starting point of what amp stacks some of these boutique builds were based off of. I know you can’t get a purely accurate match but not everyone cares about that. I just want to be able to liquify my favorite profiles from the past without having to choose between 30 static presets for every make and model. Anything close would be great but with nicknames of profiles and a not being a full tone geek myself, it is daunting. For extra credit would love suggested pairings for imprint emulation as well.

Cool that people very, very into and wise about real amps are Kemper Profile creators... Hope a Liquid Hiwatt pack is coming soon.

More is option paralysis, there’s a lot of art in simplicity and actually spending time playing to become better than tome wasted tweaking and choosing.

Thanks for the video. I am more interested by the generic/liquid mids being different. I haven’t had a chance to check at live levels but in my ears it sounds like the mids are a little more natural (whether closer to the original I have no idea but…). I would like to hear your thoughts on this. thanks

Very interesting views and subject matter. Appreciate the time it took to film and edit this one. Any idea or word on when the new Kemper stuff from NAMM drops? So want to dive into the new modulation options.

Because liquid profiles are good for small adjustments but the further you get from the base profile the less accurate it is and many of these amps have a huge range of tones not fully covered by liquid.

Nice Demo, do I see a Valvetrain amp below the Bandmaster Cabinet?? Valve Train Home is here in ORLANDO, Flor. I know a fellow who works there, they do alot of Repairs too. Always alot of money in Amp. Repairs. I liked the clean tone rolled down Gain sound. I own a 90's marshall made Korg, 1993, the controls are VERY SIMILAR to the 60's, mine has the Greenbacks, the greenbacks are the telling tone difference from Alnico blues or Silvers. It is very Punchy sounding, I just changed a couple microphonic tubes.

Thanks for this tutorial. I'm wondering how one would 'liquid profile' a boutique amp like the Mzero MezzaBarba Eric Steckel amp. (For instance). What base model amp would you choose to base it on? I have several boutique amps like this, that don't exactly fit the stock amp choices. Do you know if in the future Kemper will expand the stock amp choices?

Pot & cap variances, sure. But all the talk of changing tubes, tube variances, transformer differences, etc. has nothing to do with the "problem" with Liquid Profiles.

Personally I don’t prefer the liquid profiles. There are too many people making Liquid profiles of amps that haven’t been modeled yet. They just throw in a “similar” tone stack and call it a liquid profile. I recently bought a Shiva pack and it sounds and behaves nothing like my actual shiva. At least the standard profiles are accurate if you find one you like

So many people are nowadays desperate to sell their Kemper ... because UAFX is enough for a crunch tone and far less problematic than Kemper and Fractals .

This confusion is going to be common with each iteration. It's so uncommon for the average guitarist to have their ears properly tuned into what's happening with an amp's controls and things are tweaked in a room. So many of users want the next update to fix everything, but that's never going to happen. The amount of code and work required to capture every data point in an active EQ would be insane. Then, add on a modern amp that hadn't Revv's aggression controls or KSR's NFC knob, and you're compounding the complex variability several times over.

If you want the sound of an amp, just play the damn amp itself. Better touch sensitivity and gain clean up. Who cares about infinite choices when only a few sound killer. My amp sounds fantastic all the time, vintage and no problems other than a fuse change from ‘85.

It depends on the situation. For my situation the Kemper is the best solution for me. No loud amp, no issues with mic placement, I have all the effects which I need ->no pedalboard needed. If you play with in ear you have a miced amp and I play very often live. So for me Kemper is the best solution. But I understand, that playing the original amp fun and maybe the best solution for you.

Liquid profiling is splitting hairs that nobody can hear in a mix. Tonex is my preference.
