In my case my suffering led me to Christ. I had a very disturbing childhood, this led me to a very serious drug addiction for 22 years. I couldn't bear my miserable life anymore, but couldn't heal on my own either, till that one night, when I called Jesus. I was desperate and ready to give my life to Jesus. And the rest is a miraculous history of healing. Glory to God.

Wow. You are pure gold. It's the best explanation I have ever heard. The "free will explanation" was never satisfying to me. Thank you so much for your great videos. May god bless you.

So refreshing to hear a Pastor who is willing to engage this issue at some level of intellectual depth, interacting with the ideas of the likes of Hume, Mackie, Plantinga, and Lewis. Even delving into some philosophy and logic. I feel that most pastors are unwilling to engage with the most rigorous arguments at a deep level but it is so needed these days, especially in a Christian culture where pat answers to hard questions abound and where so many serious intellectual objections are raised against Christian belief. I’ve never listened to this pastor before but really great stuff. Thanks!

We are reading the book “The Problem of God” in my senior apologetics class, and this is really helping me understand the chapters more!

So basically the Christian God is so petty that he creates evil and suffering. How does this God differ from Zeus ?

The Bible makes it clear, the parameters that evil exists within are created by God. It doesn’t say that he created evil, but the creation he is responsible for contains within it, creatures that have the capacity for evil. Sin marks everything in our world and because of the ripple effects it has on that which it touches, sin and evil keeps on being rebirthed through the actions of those creatures. It says that both good things and calamity come from the mouth of God but that speaks to his power and authority as the ultimate judge not his direct handling or direct responsibility for evil. We all have a choice about what we do and we all sin. We all share some guilt for the condition of the world and the mistreatment of humanity.
