Since he is the biological father of Jon, therefore, Jon could be the song of ice and fire. Rhaegar obsession could be rights, just like Viserys I. Bcs in order to be The Prince, they had to present an heir to the realm. 3 heir if it's possible. Rhaenyra had 3 boys, Viserys thought it was Rhaenyra. The point of this prophecy was whomever is The Prince, they need to produce a child as they're going to be The Song. Book Maester Aemon thought it was Daenerys. But he wasn't all wrong. Daenerys was *the mother* of dragons. So she's also could be The Prince as she's a parent of 3 as does Rhaenyra and Rhaegar

There is a problem with Jon being the prince that was promised. Because the full prophecy in the books mention a lot of things that Jon in fact didn't do. One of them is wake the dragons from stone. Dany hatched her dragons from eggs that turned to stone. Second is have 3 sons (or just kids), Dany's 3 dragons were her sons. Third: Be born amongst salt and smoke. It is mentioned that Dragonstone smells often like smoke and salt because sea around it. Dany was born on Dragonstone, Jon was not. And more things So the full prophecy mentioned in the books literally rule out Jon. The only logical conclusion is that in the books Dany is the prince (or princess) that was promised. Missandrei is actually right with the prophecy being mistranslated. That is the books version. The show made it look like it's about Jon

Don’t blame the actor blame the writers the actor is just doing what he is told

When you realise that whole game of thrones (a song of ice and fire) has been about Jon Snow (Stark ice and Targaryen fire)

And then D and D decided it was not right for Jon to kill the night king. I will try to be calm in my next words, but it is going to be difficult. There were a decent amount of characters whose storyline were setting Jon up as Azor Ashai, the one who will keep the evil at bay when the night comes. I am talking about Melisandre, Stannis, Davos and of course Jon himself. The whole damn plotline was leading up to the last stand of Jon against the night king. I mean the whole season 8 was shit, except for Theon's story line. But letting Arya kill the night king is not even stupid, it is like as if they didn't even read the books.

y’all are fucking WILD for these opinions. i just rewatched ALL of it. binged tf out of it and everything up to season 8 episode 3 is straight FIRE. the rest was just them trying to make the audience say “whoa, didn’t see that coming!” but the directors thought it would be good.

Great short. I loved Jon snow so much. I was really upset when the entire premise of the show was to reveal his lineage and it had 0 effect on the outcome of the show. Also they made a point of making him do basically nothing in the long night and gave the spotlight to Arya. Which is fine I love Arya and I loved that scene. Can't help but feel like it was a feminist motivated power move rather than giving characters meaningful and fitting arcs. Such a shame
