Well, Qatar is a small desert island in the Persian gulf. There are zero natural resources besides oil. They don’t even have fresh water. I think their only export is oil. I assume they have to import everything.

Royal family of Qatar is not the most moral entity out there, of course it has nothing to do with being or not being a muslim. Tax evasions, terrible immigrant workers practices, blackmailing, murders inside the family, imprisonment of their own female family members... But hey, if they pay, they are good clients.

Qurans are heavy. Don’t know if you’ve held the actual book or not (especially one of the royal family which is made of leather and is decorated) but they can weigh up to around 30 or more pounds. That book rest at the bottom is unsupported, so its best that the glue be epoxy on epoxy and glue on wood. The corner bevel will BE supported however by the standing podium that sits on the floor itself and take most of the weight off that corner, so it wont matter if they use epoxy or glue there. Which the book open the weight will be evenly distributed and wont put strain on that corner so it wont give in the slightest, Quarns ive seen in house holds tend to be open to scriptures so that glue up wont be an issue. Hope this explanation helps.

Just showed up in my feed. Congrats on getting the work. Using your video to show my guys some really dangerous tool habits they should avoid. Been doing this longer than the guy in the pics has been alive and still have all my fingers intact because I know that things happen fast and plan for it. Use work holders!!! Question- how does this epoxy stuff look a few decades down the road? I have stuff out there from the early 80's that moved a lot but still looks good. Seems that the movement from your shop in the US to a desert environment would be difficult for the materials to deal with. Thanks
