Thats because you really shouldnt be eating a raw store turkey after cooking it for "2 hours"... poltury needs to be cooked to a certain "doneness" for most people to enjoy it, the 2 hours is a standard for the bacteria in the meat to be killed. Its not a "doneness" factor. Which is why people enjoy the pre cooked turkey. I usually just pre cook mine the day before thanksgiving along with all the desserts and snacks. this way all the fresh sides can be cooked on the same day in half the time. cook a raw turkey for at least 4 hours
OUCH, at that price I will cook my own.
I bought my 13 pound turkey for only $6.69, I caught it on sale at $0.49 a pound. Even without the sale I think I probably would have gotten the same turkey for about $15-$20 bucks.
yeah, $95 - forget it. I can wait and eat turkey in the spring when the prices have returned to reality. There's all sorts of other things that can be cooked for a family feast.
20 lb turkey with stuffing cooked in 3 - 31/2hours. Cook in oven at 450F in a roasting pan with lid on, or BBQ in a Weber kettle.

Sorry Y'all! Our juicy Cajun-Style Turkey is sold out online. But don't fret! Order at your local Popeyes location for pickup. According to their website.
I have two of these turkeys. $54.99 plus tax for a 12-13 pound turkey when bought in the store. Online it’s $94.99 plus shipping costs. There are no sides offered with the turkey. Those are extra. The turkey is marinated then flash deep fried. It’s then immediately frozen. Takes around 2 hours to reheat. Fair warning the in store price depends on supply. Some stores may charge more if supply is low. Most in store turkeys have been sold out for weeks now.
I used to buy them. I just fry my own in the indoor turkey fryer by Butterball. Cooks a 18-20 lbs. turkey in about a hour. Easy peasy!

One option is to buy a boneless turkey breast, or, even easier, buy deli turkey breast, however much or as little as you want, sliced however you desire Heat in a pan with canned turkey gravy, a wonderful thing, but you can also simmer it in water, the turkey won't absorb it. And you can feast for between $10-$15, depending on what you want for sides. Thanksgiving is about being grateful and eating well, with a little effort, you can do both, without breaking the bank. I'm 65 and retired also, in the same boat, with most family gone. I hope you have a friend or someone in your life, to enjoy the day with. My uncle and I, both retired US Army sergeants, lived in apartments in the same building, and ate together in this way for many years, until he passed. He was a mess sergeant, a cook, and taught me so much. But I've worked as a supermarket deli clerk, and they will help you, in any way they can. Hope this helps.
That’s not that expensive for 8-12 people if it was fresh!!! Never had Popeyes Turkey before but didn’t realize it was frozen. For frozen that is way too much money. It’d be fair for fresh prepared Turkey though.
I'm roasting a chicken this year, Turkeys are too expensive..
Popeyes knows time is money so honestly this is pretty fair.
You're lucky to still find these turkeys in-store if you drive to low populated areas and small towns.
So the turkey is only about 50 bucks at the store. Don’t be lazy pull up to the restaurant. As a matter of fact it’s too late to get one anyway. And yes a turkey is easy to cook, but the seasoning and the juice that it makes is very hard to duplicate. Worth every penny. I bought two of them this year. So I could have one in the middle of the year next year.
For a KZread channel that was named after the best way to serve potatoes it is amazing that they don't seem to know turkey about cooking turkey
Buy it at a local Popeyes for $49.99. Call the restaurant to see if available first though.

So I'm not a fan of Popeyes Food at all and I can understand that the price has Went up because of inflation. But to be honest I Rather still Buy my turkey at the store which I did the other day for $25 at this store called Audi's. I feel like if you shop at this particular store that I name you will be saving so much more money. Because I never knew a turkey to be 95$ plus taxes and fees. And that's just only for the turkey and that's not even a whole meal. So that's how I save my money this year I refuse to buy my food from a restaurant when I could just honestly cook my food at home for a cheaper price.
It’s good though, super moist and delicious, unlike the holiday meal deals from big name supermarkets.
Smh Nova Scotia.. yeah right lmao😂

Thank goodness my family does not eat Turkey. We will eat chicken or seafood.
Turkey is easy to cook
Yea right. They can't even manage to get you their normal menu items in a timely and polite manner. Who cares about the price, it's a bad decision period 🤣
I like the traditional Thanksgiving turkey I imagine this turkey tastes just like an order of Popeye's chicken.
That amount of time to “reheat” in the oven after receiving it and letting it thaw out, you might as well do it yourself. 😅
I would just buy my own and add flavor to it.
Gosh, people are so ignorant of the true cost of producing things. It’s not limited to Turkey
I purchased one about 10 years ago. It of course wasn't as expensive as what it is now because of inflation. It was okay but if I recall it was flattened out. Wasn't round and full looking. Looked like a duck. Taste was fine but I am good at smoking meet so this year I will do my own. That said I love Popeye's chicken and mashed potatoes.
But what about the classic Thanksgiving smells that fill up the house
My family has a Thanksgiving fish fry because turkey is always a disappointing entree
You could just call me or any other coonass. We fry 'cajun' style turkeys every year. Bring me a 12-15 completely thawed bird. Only takes about 45 minutes. If you want it smoked I do that too.
I was just talking to someone about this the other day. I never do the "traditional" thing anyway just to mix it up.
