Took me back with my purchases. You were the first to introduce me to Show Z. I don’t buy from TF Source or BBTS unless Show Z is out of stock. Keep up the great work. Which do you prefer between TF-Direct and TFSafari?

This brings back memories. I remember when eBay would also do those surprise flash deals where it would be either an extra $15 off $75 purchaee, or an extra 15% off coupon that would only last for one evening... then they shrunk them to 10%off, then they switched it to extra 8% in eBay bucks, then 5% ebucks,... Combining those surpeise flash discounts with the bababobo deals yielded even extra bang for the buck. I recall some tfw threads trying to track historic dates to potentially plan when they'd happen again. I think we settled that nearly every final month of a quarter (i.e. March, June, September,...) they'd kick out a deal or coupon. Since the eBay 15% flash coupon had a cap of ~$100 off, I recall opening an additional account and planning out which mixture of items to purchase, from which store(s) to get to the ~$670 and maximize the discount... since sellers (or former sellers) like smartlulu?? and hzj401?? (and some other 'safe' china sellers I can't recall right now) sometimes had better or worse prices than the other. I think a few started off their own websites that initially had better deals, but I think they tapered off. Baba used to also do singles day, 11.11 sales, but customer service with them seems to have gone down over the years. I think those weijiang omega supremes were ~$133, with either the yellow or blue variant being $5-$8 higher than the other. I also think showz had some of the KFC junkions on sale in the $80something range... at least that's what number I've had in my head before pulling triggers on additional ones.

I'm a collector, and I was crazy for transformers growing up. But this is one reason why I'm not gung-ho about masterpiece TF's anymore. Technically I could afford them, but I like to feel that I'm getting my money's worth. And most MP TF's these days are just absurdly overpriced. IMO. Not to mention I can't keep up with all the third party stuff. I've got a lot of hobbies and interests, and *for me* there's other things to spend my money on. I still grab the occasional figure on sale, or affordable KO though.

Yes the Mp line is quite a commitment but there are affordable ways to collect MPs

There's no way I could afford MP figures. I do have MP Prowl and G2 Bumblebee and they are cool. Also there's so many QC issues. I would be ticked and despair if O bought a MP figure for hundreds of dollars and then it was damaged.

Same. That's why I bought only 2 KO, Megatron and Optimus, for $110 each and end my collection there. They are enough for me for nostalgia's sakes. I don't want to go down the collection hole as that will be quite a hit on my pocket

Thanks for making this video it’s very helpful. I wanted to get that Wei jiang omega supreme but waited wasn’t getting big bots and waited too long and then it was sold out and the price skyrocketed, but I ended up with DX9s at a good price so it worked out well.

Most of the masterpieces I have, they made a newer version, so I stopped getting them until I see a good deal. I miss those cheaper days.

Awsome video, the most I've paid for a transformer is $250 and it was for combiner wars Computron. The great thing is I got to pay it in installments over 3 month period. Other than that most of the transformers I purchased are from comic book/ toy stores. Most of the time I'm not paying full price for the items. I pick up extra transformers at retail or discount stores and trade them in at the comic book stores and build up store credit. I don't have alot of masterpiece transformers because of the prices, I pick up main line from Walmart, Ebay tfsource and have the main line hold a place in my collection until I am able to get a masterpiece version of the character.

The most I've paid for an MP toy was about $110 for MP-05 back in the day. They've priced me out lately. I just don't see the price justifying the product lately. My last MP was MPM Megatron and I got that at a huge discount of $40. I considered that a great price for that. I would buy more but only if I see the value in it. I like the 3rd party ones but those are way expensive so I don't own any.

Steal of a deal was same with DX9 Gabriel aka Omega. It went markdown to less than a 100usd at a local retailer and loved it more than the FT version (whose hip joint gave up on me unfortunately). Best deal so far. Next is Toyworld Devy yellow version around 220 preorder and just like you picked up 35-40 usd MP car KOs for a second piece on alt mode. Beats the price of the official at 150-170.

I have MP versions of Soundwave, Powerglide and Swindle, and they are not cheap by any means! The detail is amazing, but the transformations are complicated and some parts can be very fragile if not handled gingerly. I learned the 2nd part the hard way when I accidentally broke 2 fingers off of Soundwave in an attempt to transform him to cassette deck mode.

I don't have a lot of figures I would call Grails, but I was able to get the Cell Shade Constructor @ShowZ for $650...and it includes the super desirable Legend sized WheelJack. Recently got Zeta Bruticon from TFS for $380...both Sets worth Every Dime.

Can you make a video on shipping. How you ship when you sell. Where’s the best to ship at a low cost. Just I’m case I ever decide to sell

That would be a great vid. If you sell on Paypal or Ebay just use their shipping app it saves about 40% through their negotiated discounts

I haven’t been able to find the upgrade kits for Ironhide or Ratchet other than the Shadow Fisher ones. They are going for a ton right now. Maybe a future video idea about upgrade kits and which are good or bad

That is the issues with upgrade kits when they sell out they are super expensive or do not exist

I only have the Masterpiece HotRodimus because his my fave TF character. Most in my collections are from third parties because of how they made more G1 toon-accurate figures.

3p really is carrying the MP line these days

I managed to get hold of Masterpiece MP10 - Optimus Prime and Masterpiece Grimlock - both of them Toys R Us Exclusives when they first came out. Still mint in box never been opened. I had the opportunity to buy MP Soundwave but I didn't and I've regretted it ever since.

My most expensive is mp-44..i would have love the fantoys incepticons..but i pass on it and got mmc..can wait for fantoys jazz and cliffjumper

That is the fun in collecting MP you can choose for budget or aesthetic and still have a great collection to display

I'd still like to get MP Combiners that haven't been made like Computron, Abominus, and Predaking and the newer KFC Junkions which I give KFC a lot of credit for doing since they were pretty different from each other in the '86 movie. As far as deals go, I recently picked up a loose X-Transbots Menasor set with the trailer and upgrade set for $270. I want to get more into the Legends scale figures but I just can't justify the price for their size. I wish Takara/Hasbro would go in that direction by making a smaller line that was solely focused on collectors so they would be more accessible and cost less than the 3rd party stuff but look much better than the figures they currently make. I think they are going to have to step up their game going forward. Collectors aren't going to keep buying the same characters again and again with little to no improvement in design and quality. They get better but then they drop the ball as is the case with the newest version of Menasor.

I live in Australia, so everything is expensive, hahaha. I paid $600AUD for the 01 Studio Cell from a local supplier because Show Z was out of stock of the first one. I see the latest incarnation going for $400AUD on Show Z. Bought a 3rd party Soundblaster for about $180AUD. LOve that figure. Got the Takara Masterpiece Soundwave off a local for $200AUD. Everything intact, some joints a little loose a couple of scratches, but given how much the Robots Paradise figure costs, I was happy with the price. I tend to go Show Z for 3rd & 4th party. BBTS for main line multiple figures & utilise the Pile of Loot. Local if I pre-order.

Yes I hear how hard it is to collect in Australia with currency exchange and less options for purchase. Usual Mike Television discusses those issues on his channel but he still manages to get what he is looking for but it is hard

If I can get that Unicron for 250 on 11/11 it's mine! Been playing on picking that thing up for awhile just haven't gotten around to him yet. The reason WeiJang Omega goes so high is because it's incredible. Probably objectively the best toy I have for the price. I don't think KOs aren't why WeiJang got targeted. I think it was Omega. Side note: I bought that "exclusive" Pax/Trion" set after listening to your take on it. Got them this week awesome set.

Mike, Iike your style, throwing hundreds around per month on toys, haha. You have a good wife. I blew another $240 on another KFC Junkion and NEWAGE jetfire last night(showz). There’s just way to much coming out right now, I’m having to rapidly add shelving to the man cave to accommodate all these new gems. Preceptor is a figure, like many, that I don’t need, however. Not interested in insecticons, either, although I like bombshell. RECENT (in the past year) higher priced items I purchased were studio Cell and Acoustic wave through private sellers who bought in quantity, and my lastest deal was Thundercracker 2.0 day sale on BBTS A FEW weeks ago at $169. It seems through private sellers I can negotiate a fair price.

As time goes on im really considering selling off my masterpiece collection. Magic square ticks all the marks for me and doesn't take up nearly as much space. At this point im just collecting masterpiece just to be a completionist.

i got unicron this year as want primus to go with it next year if it is released but had to buy a new batt for my ebike this year and was £633 fkn rip off

@@tydiriumhanger1320 thing is i can build my own batt packs but with these fkn bosch ones they use can bus comms so if power is cut to the batts bms it bricks the bloody things and needs to be re flashed with software or it wont work so forced to pay there price.🤕

There are different points in the animation that match one closer than the other so it truly up to each collector and their head cannon
