The Prayer of Jesus: Prostration

Jesus, peace be upon him, is one of the great prophets and messengers of Islam and definitively declared as such by the Holy Qur'an. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that all prophets of God are brothers, and that they have all taught fundamentally the same exact religion-surrender and submission to the will of God.
In this video, I share how Jesus (as) himself prayed according to the Bible itself, and point out that this is precisely how Muslims pray to this day, in effect demonstrating that they who follow the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ are they who follow Jesus (as) most closely.

In Christian and Jewish prayers both mention bowing and prostration.

Wonderful how much we have in common when we seek to look beyond that which we perceive as separating us, infact it is all One. Beautiful Shaykh. Look forward to the series.

Good morning, I am not yet Muslim but I am learning about this religion. However, I hadn't noticed the detail about prostration, but Jesus certainly recited only one prayer in the Gospels: "Lord-s Father". He didn't say any other prayers and above all he didn't make the sign of the cross. Thank you very much for you videos

Dear Alexander, you make beautiful content. I met with Sufism 3 years ago. Sufism is the reasnon why i read the Quran. Im coming for Christian Ortodox tradition. In Islam is writen, that New testament is corrupted. If you take verse where Jesus is praying with head on floor, you should take the verse, where he is saying for God:"Father". And for Islam that is imposible, that God have children. Is that mean that muslim should call God "Father"? Maybe im wrong in this. I would like to hear your opinion. In Ortodoxy we have that kind of praying you can see on youtube.

speaking as a Catholic Christian who loves the prophet Mohammed and the Qu'ran (in translation by Kenneth Cragg) very deeply and finds himself uplifted by the beauty of Islam in the lives and works of Muslims and who feels an inner brotherhood with believers (and sincere non-believers), I would only like to make the modifying comment that - to my understanding - though Muslims and Christians (and those of other faiths) sincerely differ in perspective (in such a way that only God ultimately understands) - the way to holiness is equally open to all of us (the wording of your reply seems to carry a slightly different implication). I value your insights: we are all companions in this world, carrying each other's burdens, leaving no one behind! It seems very much the case that there is a great deal in Islamic tradition that enlightens our understanding of Jesus and Mary and Joseph.

To each of you We have ordained a law and a way of life. If Allah had willed, He would have made you a single community, but He tests you in what He has given you. So compete with one another in doing good deeds. To Allah you will all return, then He will inform you concerning things over which you used to differ. - Surah al-Mai'dah [5/48]

The verses of bible used by trinitarians are extremely vague and require hard interpretation to extract the understanding that Father/Son/Holy Ghost are Co-equal/Co-Eternal&distinct.

Dear Brother, I recently read the Gospel of Barnabas and found several instances showing Jesus (a.s) to be praying some of the five daily Muslim prayers. 1. Section 10 of the Gospel...Jesus went up to Mount Olives with his mother to gather olives.....then at midday, as he was praying....the Angel Gabriel visited him...could this be the Zuhur prayer? 2. Section 13: Having passed the whole night in prayer (Qiyamullail?) and in the morning (Subuh maybe?) Jesus praying, said "O Lord...." In another section, it is written that Jesus prayed the morning prayer... I find all this so intriguing. All the prophets of God appeared to be men of the same prayers, perhaps?

Are you really going to ignore one big detail. That Jesus calls to the Father. How are you going to consider verses from Matthew to be credible when it’s mentioned so many times Jesus talking about the Father? You’re cherry picking.

Which church did you attend where they pray to saints unless you are catholic? Singing is a form of worship, David sang and dance before the Lord. Psalm 96:1-2, Psalm 9: 2(for a read). Prayer is a state of the heart and the usage of the body is an outward sign of humility when approaching God whether you stand, kneel, bend, lay down, lifting our hands, etc even Jesus did not always pray on his face(John17:1) Why didn't you follow the way Jesus prayed while you were a Christian?

Twaheed ... Ones of God . God does not need any help in salvation of mankind . That's why God depends on himself taking a human body in Christ . He is a true God and true man . That is the spirit of God in both Koran and the holy bible . We as orthodox Christian we do prostrate as our lord God Jesus did . The difference is in our prostration we go down on our face after crossing ourselves without having Ruku as you do have . All this you stole all this prayers in Ethiopia after you being given care in church in Ethiopian for 40 years .

NO -- NO -NO : Jesus is God in flesh. Yes. Islam has many things right, but the only most important aspect is wrong; you cannot ignore Jesus as Lord and savior and still enter Heaven--He is the door. Nothing imperfect can produce perfection

No one can exclusively claim oneself to be God. God is all inclusive. God is not limited to only one person. 🙏 When Jesus said I am the Alpha and Omega , he was saying this through the prism of Supreme omnipresent omnipotent omniscient spirit (God/Consciousness) and didn't exclusively claim to be God.

Jesus prostrated ONCE in one PRAYER. He had others where he didn't. That's why most of christian prayers aren't, but in some prayers we do. If you did a tiny bit of research you wouldn't come with such a biased assertion

Jesus prayed sitting, standing, kneeling, and in a prone position. Moses often fell on his face to pray. Daniel frequently kneeled. The disciples were sitting in the upper room when the Holy Spirit descended upon them in answer to prayer...Know your facts well people.😂😂😂😂😂
