Sometimes ignorance is NOT bliss... I was ignorant to voodoo, but I saw your videos and did more research on it. Thanks for shedding light on this bro!

Dynast, what you got to understand is that in Africa, these practices as the one you call Vodun ARE NOT RELIGION as Christianity or Islams are. THEY ARE TRADITIONS. This is why African Muslims and Christians also practice these traditions. Even in Senegal where you go quiet often , there are multitude of traditional practitioners, who are referred to as Marabout who even use pages of the Coran 9that they tear out), with their mystic African practice. They don't call it vaudou over there but it is the same principle. So, the Ifa priest in Benin who could also be a christian and the Marabout in Senegal who could also be Muslim, are basically the same African traditional oracles using almost the same divination techniques. You will be surprised to find many Muslims Imams in Mali, Senegal, Guinea, Ivory Coast and else who also are Feticheur ( as we say in French) , the same way you will find a lot of christian pastors in West Africa who are also involved with fetiches. Next time you go Senegal , go down to Casamance and check these traditional practictioners . They surely do not call it Vodoun ver there, but it is basically the same thing. kzread.info/dash/bejne/gGxt0bWCl8nOodI.html

What's the difference between a religion and tradition? Aren't religions born out of a culture's traditions and worldviews? Looking at Judaism, Christianity and Islam, you can see they have their records of tradition, and scholars who study those traditions since they actually are part of religious practice.

People use to refute what they don't understand. The video can clarify all kind of minds but those that don't want to. Knowledge is the key to the end of wrong perceptions and discrimination but there are too much blind people in the world. Only some people are available to show details of the African culture and not everybody wants to learn more about it. The video is GREAT and your job is GREAT! Sometimes the religion is the culture of the people and it's ok... Because the most important point is the respect for the religion or culture. It doesn't matter if you have a different religion or culture we all are humans, we all deserve respect. That's what Jesus tried to teach and that's what we can learn with Orisas. RESPECT AND YOU WILL BE RESPECTED.
