I am a very anxious soul. Living in the past or brooding over the future. Dwells regularly. That's why Zen is my medicine. I am a serious Zen practitioner. Mushin, if one even reaches it, is the ultimate freedom. I struggle by not struggling. Just trying to be.

The key word in all this is taming the attachment to the external & internal world, you can be angry or stressed, but tame the attachment to it, but that takes being mindful it has happened to begin with...Catching yourself in the act is a great sign yor practice is going great.

To me mushin when applied feels like seeing a void in my mind. And only when I need thoughts I start seeing only those I need. So it is very helpful and the explanation of it was great.

Exactly as the Limitless movie showed. You know what you need to do and how to do it without the need for thinking. Some greater force is filtering your known and brings about the perfect combination at the moment of need.

Cool video, love this topic, I read Miyamoto, Soho, & Munenori to look into this from a martial arts perspective. My original interest was mushin from the pure Buddhist perspective & as far as my research uncovered, to go further on this topic, one should research the purely Buddhist texts & commentaries on mushin, since the martial arts perspective explains it differently, which seemed more like a flow state, intuition, or even just muscle memory, although perhaps more accessible, but I feel inaccurate, at least from the way it's presented in Buddhism. You could say a flow state is a good sign but keep going on the journey is good advice I think. Mushin is basically enlightenment, the tao, mastering non-attachment (you can do, think, & feel anything just don't be attached), non-dual realization, egolessness, emptiness, Buddha-nature, the view, luminosity, etc. Writings on these things take it deeper or at least, explain it deeper. But, the best way is to be in silence, meditate a lot (which can be walking meditation too), & be mindful in everyday life, since these things take years to approach & cannot ultimately be grasped mentally in any way, that's the exact thing that's stopping it from being uncovered, the discriminating mind.
