The Power of Inner Stillness

Eckhart shares the power of contemplating the ordinary moments of everyday life. By bringing consciousness to the small moments that often seem insignificant, we bring awareness, appreciation, and enjoyment to all forms of the present moment. Eckhart Tolle is widely recognized as one of the most original and inspiring spiritual teachers of our time. He travels and teaches throughout the world.
Eckhart is not aligned with any particular religion or tradition, but excludes none. His profound yet simple and practical teachings have helped thousands of people find inner peace, healing and greater fulfillment in their lives. At the core of his teachings lies the transformation of individual and collective human consciousness - a global spiritual awakening.
Eckhart Tolle is the author of The Power of Now, a #1 New York Times Bestseller, which has been translated into 32 languages and become one of the most influential spiritual books of our time.
In his most recent book, A New Earth, he shows how transcending our ego-based state of consciousness is not only essential to personal happiness, but also the key to ending conflict and suffering throughout the world.

I want to express gratitude to the universe for having allowed me to express gratitude to Eckhart, in person, on a random summer day where I live in Canada. I was casually walking in town and then I saw him walking with 2 friends to a car. I froze, and then fear of annoying him prevented me from approaching him, but after a moment I thought I have to say it, then went to him, said a real thank you from the heart, and that his books were a positive turning point in my life. He just looked at me and hugged me and said thank you and they left. I felt so high after that. Thank you . Peace

The only thing that is appearing to stop you from enlightenment/self-realization/eternal life/knowing yourself to be unconditional love is identification with thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences instead of being aware of being aware and knowing yourself to be that unconditional love pure consciousness in which all thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences appear but are not inherently one with you; they are an expression of unconditional love; you are that infinite that is expressing itself as suffering/pleasure but inherently you are neither; you are that nothing/unconditional love/pure consciousness in which they are appear and by which they are perceived; Suffering/pleasure comes and goes; there is an awareness that is aware of them coming and going; that you are; remember and know what you are; never identify with anything that is appearing within you; since it appears within you; it can't be you; you are that in which it appears. When you abide as that in which it appears instead of identifying; nothing has a grip on you; if anything comes; it quickly goes; like clouds passing; only if you identify as a cloud then it will appear as if the cloud is here for longer than it is originally supposed to; if you simply rest as the awareness and do not identify; it will quickly dissolve; be unconditional love by being aware of being aware; this is the highest; this is what you are seeking in absolutely everything else; you are seeking yourself; you are seeking unconditional love; but you are looking outside of yourself; instead of being aware that you already are unconditional love. Love love

What will happen tomorrow (anything other than God himself in the present) oh you of little faith!” I see why thinking is Satan’s favorite tool for us cause we are a broken species! I just found Eckhart Tolle on my 29th birthday. I read the book The Power Of Now recommended to Will Forte by Pete Holmes on the podcast “You Made It Weird with Pete Holmes” this last week. I will probably listen to that book multiple times and his others. I always had these thoughts in my heart and blamed the world for not being like this then shut off my heart completely (at a very young age) and was drowning in depression, this book has awoken my inner child of compassion and willingness to learn more about people and myself. Thanks to Eckhart and the people around him, I think I can see life as a decent thing now, of course, I still need to put these words to action.. but the feeling I get from his words are going to stick with me.

I love you Eckhart, you are my favorite spiritual teacher. I need to point out that you are getting self-esteem mixed up with self-confidence in this video. Self esteem means self-worth, and points to you recognizing your value as a human being, no matter what you have achieved or how you look, that is, regardless of external conditions. Having self esteem means knowing you are valuable just for being you, just like a new born baby, the baby doesn't have to do anything in order to be valuable, the fact that the baby is, is enough for it to be infinitely precious. The same applies to all of us. So self-esteem is something very important, although of course it can become something much more profound from the deeper perspective your describe.

Opening to wisdom through non conceptual knowing, being comfortable going against our programming, with not thinking or knowing conceptually, but simply being present; takes such trust that in vulnerability there lies our greatest strength. The inner stillness is our seed of personal power but outside, or beyond a sense of self...the light of the world...✨ So grateful for this teacher helping us remember. Thank you Eckhart 🙏🏼

He begins each lecture, and frequently hyphenates them, with painfully long periods of silence. He blinks and looks slowly around, almost as if he is ever so slowly awakening to unfamiliar surroundings. He is a near-perfect impersonation of a contented and sleepy koala. Finally he speaks so softly with a cadence that favors a remarkable silence-to-word ratio. It is almost as if each and every word has fought and barely lost a heroic battle to stay within him. All part of his appeal.

Finally...my understanding of the ego! It's the unobserved mind! Yay I get it now!👏 I couldn't quite grapple with that understanding until now. Thanks Eckhart!👍

The Horseback Heroine that makes sense cause the ego can run you if you aren’t aware of your thoughts . I’m noticing that in me . My mind will run negative thoughts that try to calm my pain body . When in real ness the healing will happen when I go through the pain to find peace . All these great teachers say . Be aware that your aware . And to beware of ego backlash . 🔑

The unobserved mind is not necessarily ego yet; it _becomes_ ego when you _identify_ with it.

Eckhart Tolle, such goodness to listen to you, watch your video, try to be in the present, I am very grateful to you. I am you, you, it is me. There is the word "we", here is only I. Here is the shell, the word vessel, and in the shell is the essence of being. You are me, I am you, only dreams are woven from the mind. Where there is silence, there is being, here is being, my happiness.

The essence of stillness and marinating pure silence in the present is wonderfully liberating, the process of engulfing our minds in sheer calmness and aliveness comes from remaining in alignment with the now. Silence can never be misquoted

In one of your teachings I understood the difference between my essence, which you helped me see is indestructible and my form. It brought me freedom and deep joy because I suddenly knew that childhood abusers could not harm my essence. What they did, they could only do to my "container"! It was a profound moment and depression lifted greatly. Thank you for caring about humanity.

My ego often fools me when I think I’m in the present moment, and I usually catch myself thanks to one of the biggest lessons I learned from “The Power of Now” - “non-attachment, non-resistance, non-judgement”. Eckhart describes mastering these three concepts as achieving freedom and enlightenment. Even if I think I’m just quietly observing the present moment, I can still find myself feeling attached, resistant and/or judgmental. The ego is a tricky thing; but little by little, with patience and practice, you actually do feel a sense of pure liberation.

Conversation was never begun at once, nor in a hurried manner. No one was quick with a question, no matter how important, and no one was pressed for an answer. A pause giving time for thought was the truly courteous way of beginning and conducting a conversation. Silence was meaningful with the Lakota, and his granting a space of silence to the speech-maker and his own moment of silence before talking was done in the practice of true politeness and regard for the rule that, "thought comes before speech." - Luther Standing Bear, Oglala Sioux Chief
