THE POWER ACTIVE CITIZENRY | Interview with Dave Baxter, PRA

As part of our ongoing #StopCitizenAbuse campaign, the IRR visited a community in Weltevredenpark who took initiative and fixed their own potholes.
The initiative was spearheaded by Panorama Residents Association (responsible for the whole area encompassed by the streets - Jim Fouche; Hendrik Potgieter Drive; Tennis Street; JG Strydom Drive). Panorama Residents Association (PRA) along with EC Security and members of the community got together to fill more than 80 potholes using a total of 875 kg of asphalt and tar. The efforts were funded by annual membership fees of residents belonging to the PRA.
The IRR went to meet Dave to learn more about what this community is doing to service their own infrastructure, and in doing so, to stand against the neglect (citizen abuse) meted out to them by their municipality.
Join us in our efforts to #StopCitizenAbuse by sharing our media or joining our campaign. Together we do have the power to make a difference!

Thank you Dave, Michael and all on the PRA. Hope this becomes seen nationally, and a nation-wide movement, like in Senekal, Koster, Harrismith etc. Our only power is our votes, and our rates.
