The Postman - Original Theatrical Trailer
Ойын-сауық
The year is 2013 and the future isn't what it used to be. There are no highways, no I-ways, no dreams of a better tomorrow-only scattered bands of terrorized survivors in what was once called the United States. Into this apocalyptic wasteland comes an enigmatic drifter with a mule named Bill, a knack for the works of Shakespeare and something he has yet to discover: the power to inspire hope.
Kevin Costner, director, co-producer and star of the 1990 Best Picture Academy Award winner Dances with Wolves, again takes on triple duties in this epic futuristic adventure. Costner plays a wayfarer in a world where might makes right but destined to lead a heroic rebellion where right makes right. Sweeping battle scenes, breathtaking wilderness vistas and touching moments of personal triumph all combine to make sure "The Postman delivers!" (Jay Carr, The Boston Globe).

The Hollywood elite and mainly democrat money and degenerate minded did not like it because it was too much truth for them as they live their rich dreams, problem is they are actually causing it in every way, it will soon come to haunt them.

@@marsoblivi0n945 Indeed. I try to not use "like" all the time. I certainly think this movie has a very beautiful message, no pun intended, and more than one. With the "like" I was just trying to be humble in my opinion, wanted to underscore that maybe it is not the case. To me this movie is very emotional, as emotional as it gets. Should not say the most emotional but second to none. Thank you for pointing this out. Wish you a great 2023!

@@Demicleas Dear Demicleas, actually, real pilots consider Top Gun Maverick to be a terrible movie. There is a great talk where a former pilot and engineer explains to MIT students how neither physics works that way, nor anybody gets cool nicknames. The latter are always diminutive, silly. That is the point of being a soldier. If somebody calls you "a Titan", you are probably made fun of for being arrogant. Everybody knows what you did great and respect comes from accomplishments, not from a preset nickname, which by default is to be simple. I know Dallas Mavericks and John Sidney McCain, one of my favorite politicians. He truly was a maverick. Amazing how during elections' campaign he began explaining to his supporter that Obama is fine, they just see things differently. His own crowd began booing him. This movie is also not very realistic, but beautiful. A grifter, by an accident, gets to do one of the most honorable jobs and helps to restore civilization. I am very glad that this makes you feel patriotic. Me too. Glory to the United States!

I don't give a damn what people say. This movie is glorious.
I had never heard of this movie, and I saw it last night. What an amazing, wonderful movie!
This movie becomes more relevant every day. I don’t care what people say, it’s a great story with an important message. Lots of powerful ideas in this film that are all too true to life. Just finished watching it again. I remember as a kid driving past one of the sets in Washington when they were filming. Found the movie boring as a child but as an adult it has become one of my favorite sci-fi films. It demonstrates the potency of the simplest of ideas like “die with the harness off my back”. It deals with what someone (like a copy machine salesman) can become when conditions change much like how neighbors turned into authoritarians during the pandemic. It deals with how legends rise outside of our control & how people can find themselves in positions of leadership without wanting to be there & the responsibility that comes with that. There is so much more the movie offers but I’ll leave it there.

Most people hate this movie. Or say that its ass. But this movie is absolutely amazing. It has such a beautiful message. I could watch it over and over.
What an amazing movie!! I saw it many times and i still do.
An Excellent movie! Superb performance of Kevin Costner and what a msg it conveyed! Senstivity at its peak!
I lived where part of the movie was filmed, in Central Oregon. A co-worker and her son were extras in the movie. My husband, at the time worked for a lumber company who supplied building materials for the sets. Oddly enough, we were given a large fake boulder, which looked real and used it as part of our landscaping in the back yard to go with the other boulders. LOL. No one could tell it was fake. I was shocked to see it had such bad reviews. I loved it. Awesome that Tom Petty was in it.

The vision of the post-apocalyptic time in this movie is so much better than our 2020...I mean they had Tom Petty and we don't.
Regardless of the critics and naysayers. I still enjoyed this movie. There is a meaning to the story beyond it's tone. If you believe in that and it's not difficult to understand. #25yearsago💎🎞

As someone who remembers all the hate this got originally, its really heartening to see so many positive comments on here! ❤
Is this movie too long? Certainly. Is it a bit goofy? Of course. But it’s a really well-shot, epic, action-filled post-apocalyptic story. I thought Costner did a fine job with this film, and critics were much too hard on it. Go in with an open mind and this film may leave you with a smile
Does anyone else think of this movie when they play New Vegas? Or vice versa
2020 is truly the weirdest gd timeline.
I've seen this movie back in the day when In 1997 when I only had 3 years under my belt as a Mailman and I though: Can you imagine a Mailman bring people together to fight the Ruling Dictators in the USA after a Civil War, that would be Me & my Route of 2.500 Customers.

Was pretty much a box office bomb this film was but I quite enjoyed it. I thought Will Patton's performance in it was very good. It's was always watchable.
Patton giving costner a hard time again lol
Not a bad movie at all. Excellent direction and production values. But they shouldn't have given it the same title as the novel (The Postman) or belabored the point that he calls himself a Postman, most people found it laughable. A bit of tweaking to the script would have made it far more palatable
The movie is fantastic......the trailer is garbage.....I took my kid brother to see this on opening day (which in case your curious was Christmas Day)....I had been watching the trailers on T.V. and back then we didn't have internet so that was I had to go on....I was very excited and champing at the bit to go The trailer is very deceitful and does not prepare you to see the actual movie you end up with....I was so mad, we had been tricked......I didn't know what that was.....but it wasn't what came across in the trailer.....and I told everyone how terrible it was I few years later, knowing that usually I watch bad movies to kill time, a friend of mine gave me a VHS copy ( not knowing I had seen it in theaters) I got pretty sick and was stuck at home for a while....so I grudgingly decided to run it one time and figured I'd just sleep through it Wrong.......wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong Having completely different expectations made a dramatic difference The movie is really damn good And unlike Dances with Wolves.....it ends when it should
