Having watched the Chateau Diaries what a breath of fresh air your channel is. Such a lovely, natural life you have & you have inspired me to go for walks & cook properly more during gloomy UK months of lock down. I now see the simple pleasures of just pottering around & doing a bit of work & having some time relaxing too. Thank you for some lovely escapism viewing. Oh & I make sure I watch the ads too!!

Nikki I love how you take and incorporate surviving on the land and exploring it to make it fun by picnicking, beach walks etc. Life is never boring or grueling that way. You have to have a happy medium between both. Working the land but enjoying the fruits of your labor. I had five acres I tended. In the past parents raised their kids to help out in the gardens because there does come a time when the parents start slowing down. They cannot do it all. And then the children learn the survival skills needed so in turn they can teach their children.

I also love watching chateau diaries. Skye and Carlo did a great job on the sign.

That is one of the most beautiful KZread videos I have ever watched. Thank you for sharing a glimpse into your world. It appears to be quite peaceful.

Love the beautiful wrought iron gate Carlo made. You are all so artistic. Skye with her Lemon sign and your cooking and videos. Even the braiding of the onions is such an art. Makes me appreciate more the work that goes into our everyday foods and not to be taken forgranted.🍆🥬🍅🧅🥔

Glad to see Sky making pasta. It's so essential to teach your children how to survive. Esp. Garden growing. Because when we are gone they need to know what we know. Esp. Self sufficiency. Not everything comes from a grocery store. It is nice that they get to experience an easy childhood but later they have to go through survival just like us. And if children learn to listen they will learn the art of survival. It is not the fact we are telling them what to do but the fact we want them to thrive and survive like we did. It takes so much time to learn how to grow food and the proper nutrients, minerals, manure potassium fish heads etc. etc. that go into growing your own food. As soon as Fornillo popped up on my screen I knew you’d be heading to Bar Ferdinando for lunch....and even Guido made a quick cameo appearance! . I took those bloody stairs from Hotel Vittoria at LEAST 4 times a day, or more ! Wonder if the lift works yet 🤔 A very quiet video today Nicki, but so nice to see your veggies and the striking sign Skye made for your lemon garden. Carlo did a great job with it too. Thanks for another trip down my holiday memories, I wish I could be back there now. Gotta catch up on the few videos I’ve missed over the last few weeks.

Loved this, och aye the noo, (Oh yes just now) lol. Carlos covered in sawdust, what a fabulous sign your gorgeous daughter made. The tatties (potato) are plentiful, and so many meals you can do with them, especially when they are out of your garden. I used pecans in the pesto because I had no pine nuts, but could have used almonds or walnuts.
