The 'POSH' side of Pakistan: Lahore Polo Club (world's 2nd oldest polo club) - PAKISTAN TRAVEL VLOG

POLO SPORT IN PAKISTAN
Although polo is one of the oldest sports in the world, and was originated in Persia (now Iran), we have never thought that polo is played in Pakistan since it involves big expenses to play the sport.
On this vlog, we were invited by Faisal, a polo player at Lahore Polo Club for a tour of the second oldest polo club in the world and to ride his horses. Check out our vlog!
Stay tuned for more Pakistan travel vlogs and Pakistan food vlogs, including some Pakistan food tour and Pakistan street food tours! For the next 10 days we will be showing Lahore street food tour, Pakistan market tour, Lahore vlogs, and Lahore market tours! We've really been blown away by the Pakistani hospitality so far, and so we will be creating some Pakistani people vlogs with Pakistan drone footage, from two foreigners in Pakistan-- actually Canadians in Pakistan, (North American in Pakistan,) And of course Ivana was born in Indonesia - so you will see thoughts and views from Indonesian in Pakistan, living in Pakistan, things to do in Pakistan, things to do in Lahore, Pakistan must visit, and more!

I don't know which Polo you are talking about but the modern Polo played across the world is picked from Manipur, India by the British soldiers. Polo is the state game of Manipur. Polo is secret to our culture. It's believed to be the game introduced and played by Gods. We developed our own polo kits in home. No import. The world oldest Polo Ground is the Imphal Polo Ground.

Polo originated from this region between Iran and Pakistan. Its not a british sport. British adopted it from here. Cricket is british on the other hand. These days authentic traditional polo with old rules is only played in pakistan by the way. It was called sport of the kings if I am not wrong because prince and royalties used to play this.

So we all know that it wasn’t the Brits who invented polo (my bad)...The reason I made that statement was because we just spent a year in Malaysia, and polo is also a big thing that was picked up from the British era in the region. So we thought it was the same here. My mistake! But hey! That’s why we travel...to learn things that we didn’t know of or thought wrong of. The big debate now is...is it from Pakistan or Persia?🤷🏻‍♀️🤷‍♂️ ...listen to Mr. Shamyl’s story on the vlog👍

Polo was playing in northern areas of Pakistan in shandoor valley and it comes from buz kashi which is 1000s years old game from Afghanistan and Mughal's brought it to India at that time and when British came here they took it to Britain that's the story of polo my friend

01:15 As a matter of fact English learned to play polo from Indopak Subcontinent. Its being played in this region for more than a thousand years. Some say that Polo is brought to Indopak during muslim conquest of India.
