I might be wrong (and late) but by the movement of the strings I think he's doing this: Harmonic (w index finger and thumb) on string 6, regular finger stroke on string 3, then same thing on 5-2, 4-1, 3-1.

The bass compressor is way more like my favorite studio rack units like the 1176. I like having the ratio, attack and release controls. Since getting this one from Dunlop, I've pretty much kept my old Dyna Comps safe at home. Great pedal!

Nailed it. I remember trying to get the Andy sound back in the late 70's early eighties and it was tougher, without all the info available now. I think a had a 70's strat with Seymour Duncan's, two fender super reverbs, mxr compressor, echo and stereo chorus going to the two combos. It was pretty good, but you are nailing it. Sounds like the record. At the time I felt like the only guy trying to cop that sound. He was so under appreciated. Everybody else was going for Eddie, Or Randy or whatever. I liked Jeff and Andy. Inelectual geek as usual.

Nice video with some good comments regarding Andy Summers. Today, I just finished building a clone of a vintage Electric Mistress (and it contains the beloved Reticon SAD1048 BBD), and to be honest with you, it blows your Vortex and Giggity away. I now see why many guitarists are willing to shell out $400 to $500 on vintage Electric Mistresses.

Have you tried a Keely? I own an MXR Custom Comp and a Keely 4-knob, and I tried a bunch of others when I was looking. The MXR Custom Comp is nice, but the Keely blew all of them out of the water (with Fender tube amp & single-coils). It wasn't even close. Your sound is nice on the early Police stuff from the late 70s, but it needs more WHAPP for my taste in that hyper-compressed 80s sound.
