Regatta De Blanc my fave album too. Deathwish, Bring on The Night, Regatta De Blanc, Message, Beds Too Big - just pure rock class.

The Police went on a journey that lasted a little over 5 years. I look at each album as acts or chapters in that journey that reflects the evolution of their unique sound and writing, going from raw to more sophisticated without losing its essence. Ghost in the Machine was a necessary step (same as each and every other album of their short existence as a band) and Synchronicity was the sublime culmination.

Excellent viewpoint!

Sting was on some serious shit with Ghost. Synchronicity was polished and probably my sentimental favorite. Synchronicity II my all time favorite track. Zenyatta was very creative and is one of THE great pop albums. Reggatta was The Police at their most urgent and raw. Ghost is very cool. I dig the expansion with horns and keys and funk. Good analysis on this. The shit they put out in 5 years is astonishing. Legends.

GITM has my two favorites ( Invisible Sun and Secret Journey) so I guess I’d pick it over synchronicity.

Either album is a great choice. It’s The Police, therefore you can’t go wrong! SPSB!

Gotta go with Ghost in the Machine, now Outlandos & Regatta were just killer albums through & through. Cool review man, keep em comin.

My favourite band of all time. Regatta de Blanc is my favourite album. Invisible Sun is the highlight of Ghost In The Machine. Darkness is criminally underrated. Ghost vs Synchronicity- I think Ghost has the better singles but Synchronicity as a whole has more songs I enjoy.

Can’t argue with that. Out of their 5 releases, where would you rank Synchronicity?

Frankly, I can't stand the horns. That's why I always choose Synchro over Ghost

You know, that doesn’t bother me at all, however, not sure if you’ve ever seen it, but there’s a video which may still be on KZread, it the Police Ghost in the Machine concert and to me it’s a very bad concert. It’s hard for me to listen to it due to the excessive horn section accompanying them. Very bad. But I’m good with the GITM album.

To me it always came down to Secret Journey and Darkness being better than Mother and Miss Gradenko.
