The Polar Express Train Ride | Texas State Railroad Polar Express | Palestine Texas
Come along on the Polar Express train ride in Palestine, Texas. It's one of the coolest rides in East Texas: Texas State Railroad Polar Express! Kids and adults should love the experience as they travel to the North Pole to see Santa Claus and his helper elves. Along the way, have a fun time enjoying singing, dancing, cookies, and hot chocolate while riding in your pajamas. It's a great experience!
This is the long version of the the Palestine experience.

My kids would have loved this when they were young. I use to take them to the Thomas events all the time.

I use to take my kids on these rides all the time. BTW this is Colorado Martini. I am writing to you from one of my newest ventures. Trying to organize my content.
Hi, could you please share if it was a 3:30 ride or a later one? Are there light shows on the way or only at the departure and (as I could understand so far) upon arrival to Santa’s village? Asking because it seems al the tickets are sold out on the days we can go , and the only available are - the earliest ones. Trying to figure out if it’s worth it or if we won’t be able to see much if it’s too much daylight.

Hi Boo Cat. We timed the ride with dusk so that we could get the best lighting for photography, so it was later than 3:30 for sure. When we got to the North Pole, the elf show only lasted a few minutes before the train departed with Santa on-board. When we returned to the depot, the lights could be seen much better than when we departed. I guess you could always stick around until after dusk if you want to enjoy the lights. I hope that helps.

@@RoadtrippinwithTakacs , thank you !:) we decided to give it a shot for 3:30 as everything else is so old out anyway . I guess will have to stick around until dusk to see the lights :).

Do they give the bells to all the kids? We are taking our kiddos this year. I was going to buy bells separately but if they give them out that would be great. Also did the mugs come with the cost of your tickets or did you have to purchase them separately?

Hi Andrea. The mugs came with the type of seats we purchased. Bells were given to everyone. It should say in the description of the tickets on their webpage what is included in the packages. I'd double check to see if anything is different.

@@RoadtrippinwithTakacsThank you for responding and so quickly. I appreciate it. We bought tickets in the presidential car. We figured if we were going to spend that much money we might as well go for it. Lol

Hi Paul! It's 1 hour long. It takes 30 minutes to get to the North Pole. Magic! 😁
What time did you go

Hey Courtney. We went right at sunset. We wanted some good lighting for photos and then a nighttime look when we arrived at the North Pole.
The dancing is probably the WORST part lmao. Everyone looks uncomfortable, nothing about it reminds you of Christmas.
