I like to think of mercury being exalted in aquarius. Technically mercury is exalted in virgo but I was thinking as mercury rules virgo he would rather be in its dignity in virgo (and gemini). Uranus just gives such crazy energy to mercury, he basically puts him on steroids. What do you think of that?

AlexanderWachsmann I was understood that Mercury IS exalted in Aquarius, but it rules Virgo and Gemini. Then it's a detriment in Sagittarius and Pisces, but falls in Leo. At least that's what I've read. It's kind of interesting too as Uranus is exalted in Scorpio! But yes I think the reason why Mercury is exhausted in Aquarius is because Uranus is that higher octave of Mercury.

hmm. I heard mercury is exalted in virgo and falls in pisces. Why does mercury fall in leo? why would mercury have difficulties being in leo? Also I have mercury in 9th house so by definition mercury would be in its detriment. But here I also don't really see why. I don't find mercury in 9th to be that problematic. I get that mercury is about the details and saggitarius wants the bigger picture but this didn't give me much trouble. It's like, I can live with that. It's not that much of a big deal. Mercury in 9th gives this curiosity about other cultures and what holds the world together. So thats cool, isn't it? I actually like having mercury in 9th. Whereas my moon in 8th or saturn in 4th with moon being in its fall and the fourth house being in its detriment these energies pose a hell of a challenge I can tell you. So I think merc in sag could be a cool placement. I see why merc would fall in pisces, though as he likes to rationalise and analyse and with pisces there is no separation and everything is everything in everything^^ So merc doesn't get to express itself here. Don't see why merc would fall in leo. Sorry, I was just elabvorating on what i think about the detrimental placements and falls of mercury. Currently I have neptune squaring my natal mercury and I feel like my conversation-style is a bit all over the place XD Neptune has entered my sixth house on top of that. Yesterday I spent half the day thinking it was saturday instead of friday XDXD
