to make it simple, the contact broke the screen that was showing the car number, the rules are strick and it is forbiden to race without the number of the car visible, if they hadn't put this sticker, the win would have been cancel

The number got removed in a small tap they had. According to the regulations they have to have both numbers so Porsche put it on to prevent them being disqualified from the lead

They were still well in front of the Peugeot even with the stop. This was before the Peugeot's engine had an aneurism and the 6 car was still in front.
