Some various thoughts because I put a lot of effort into this and I want it to be known :3
- I payed attention to each clip and the "direction" it sort of took, and tried to make sure whatever came next followed a similar approach. Such as in the first chorus, when Venti shoots his arrow, it goes into Itto throwing a punch in the same direction. This didn't always work out, much to my dismay, but the parts that work REALLY worked!
- I also tried to make certain lyrics match up with the character shown. Such as "Wearing our vintage misery" showcasing Xiao, Lynette, and Wanderer. I also tried to make the follow-up line fitting too. "No, I think it looked a little better on me" ft. the House of the Hearth kids and Wriothesley. This approach didn't always work, but I think it was still effective!
- Originally, I wanted the video to be sort of sequential, following the Traveler as they went on their journey. The first half would focus on Mondstadt and Liyue, while the second half would focus on Inazuma and Sumeru (I started this before Fontaine came out). But a lot of early cutscenes are super short and don't have much action. That's a bit problematic when trying to do a sort of fighting-showcase AMV. So sadly, I couldn't exactly pull that off. I still tried to make it an emotional journey though! Going through the highs and lows of the game's story. There are some things I'm not quite pleased with, but c’est la vie~
- I purposefully used footage with both Aether and Lumine as the Traveler to better reflect the collective journey the players have. As a Lumine player, I get kinda miffed that she isn't featured in a lot of official genshin stuff. So I tried to be fair to both sides of the community.
- It was kinda frustrating how little footage some characters had, while others had a whole bunch! Beidou should have more cutscenes of her wrecking dudes tbh.
