For anyone here who still wonders why he skipped the pre-colonial Era Just know that he primarily Pertains to the Philippines as it's modern concept of a nation state which the precolobial peoples were not anywhere near to being. No Central authority, no one cultural or linguistic distinction nor the same modern concept of sovereignty A lot of Filipinos nowadays get the idea that the Philippines was a thing before Spain came wrong because our education still refers to the geographic location as the same name as our modern country with sometimes no proper distinction that they merely refer to the geographical location the modern state now resides in

As a Filipino, I hate what the Spanish did to our country. They erased ALOT of our history. I didn't even know we had our OWN writing system until I was 12..... I had to learn that from the internet. It was never taught in school. I also hate the fact that they discredited our dozens and dozens of different LANGUAGES. Instead they made us believe they're just "dialects". I was born in Manila and only speak Tagalog. My Mother speaks Visayan. She can be speaking Visayan for one hour straight and I would have no idea what she is saying. That is not just a "dialect". That is a completely different language.

To those who don't get why philippines is kinda or mostly dangerous is mostly because most regions of the philippines has still on going rebellions ( its starting to get less rebellions ) across Luzon, Visayas and the most of the rebellions are on mindanao but as for the capital region crimes are high depending on which city it is mostly Quezon city has a high homicidal rate and Tondo slowly become like london, correct me if some info's are outdated and already pass since this is all i know ( sorry if i made a whole essay i felt like wanna type the whole thing since i am filipino and known this a lot )

The channel ain't wrong tho. The history of the Philippines AS A COUNTRY really only started when the Spaniards came. Before Spain came, the Philippines only comprised of City States from various ethnic groups like Malays, Austronesians, Chinese, and more. When Spain came, they "unified" these city states into a single political entity called Las Islas Filipinas or the Philippines. From then on, modern Philippine geographical composition are mostly based on this. And before you argue, I'm Filipino so yeah. 🙃

Yeah USA vs Philippines. There were accounts of them being slaughtered over a million people during that time. But that was erased from history books and re-written. US also made the .45 caliber bullets to stop the Filipino warrior. On top of which, many Filipinos sent to America from ships were seen as monkeys or less human and there were video evidence of the inhumanity.

Some points of correction. 1. There was civilisation long before the Spanish arrived. It was made up of semi-servile and semi-communal, feudal, and primitive communal societies. 2. The Spanish colonised the Philippines for over 300 years but that didnt mean there weren't any kinds of insurrectikns before the 1896 Revolution. A bunch of people fought in their respective provinces. 3. The Philippines won the revolution against Spain without anyone's help. At this point in 1896, the Philippines was on the edge of winning until the US arrived in 1896 and bought the Philippines. Not to mention, this was a dark period in American history, there were thousands of atrocities committed against the Filipino People. 4. The US abandoned the Philippines in 1942 in the Battle of Corregidor. Who fought the Japanese until then? The HUKBALAHAP. The US may have helped from 1941 to 1942 but from 1942 to 1945 they were not in the country. The chad Huks defended the Filipino People. 5. The MILF did not try to take over the entire country. They simply wanted autonomy in Mindanao for Moro Muslims, which they eventually got in 2018. 6. "HUGE increase in security and peace" The unseen civil war between the GRP and the CPP-NPA: "Ugh its a 60 second video what do you expect" You could fit this into the video, but imo these points are important to consider when discussing the History of the Philippines. Although, you got some points right. Thank you for telling the history of the Pearl of the Orient Seas, but you should include further context so that some claims don't appear to be false or misleading. Have a nice day! 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
