Actor Robert Englund, Director Dwight Little and Make-up Designer Kevin Yagher discuss the makeup designs for The Phantom of the Opera in this brand new interview. Grab the Blu-ray at www.shoutfactory.com/film/fil...
Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street, Galaxy of Terror, Freddy vs. Jason) assumes the classic role of The Phantom in this shocking, nerve-jangling retelling of Gaston Leroux's timeless tale of music, madness and murder!
An aspiring opera singer finds herself transported back to Victorian-era London - and into the arms of a reclusive, disfigured maestro determined to make her a star. The silver-throated Christine (Jill Schoelen, The Stepfather) enjoys success through the arrangements of her new lover (Englund)... until she realizes that he has been committing unspeakably grisly murders in her honor and won't stop until he's completed his masterpiece... in blood!
Also starring Bill Nighy (I Frankenstein, Shaun of the Dead, Underworld), Alex Hyde-White (Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade), Terence Harvey (From Hell) and Molly Shannon (SNL, Superstar), directed by Dwight H. Little (Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, Marked for Death, Rapid Fire) and featuring make-up effects by Kevin Yagher (A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge, Face/Off), this “darker spin on…The Phantom of the Opera is the one to watch” (HorrorCultFilms.co.uk)!

I mentioned to him how much I love this movie and he looked so surprised. He stopped signing for a second and got this huge smile before going back to my poster
This was an underrated version of the Classic Tale. I had only ever seen the Broadway musical (In 1989), and seeing this in the video store one day was like... OHHH Robert Englund (Freddy as the Phantom of the Opera)!! IN!!! I always loved this take on the story, and now I can watch it restored and with new features!

The commentary is good too. Englunds line of “once you’ve had Phantom, you never go back” had me dying😂😂
You know what I just realised? He doesn't have a nose, which could be a nod to Erik's description in the book.

Well, Destler had a nose, just with no skin on it. Leroux’s Phantom didn’t have a nose at all.
Englund is a master of his craft.
I wish this movie gotten a sequel
This was a good movie! My fav part was the Phantom
Englund is a perfect Phantom of the Opera. I loved so much his version.

Noooo. I'd rather Erik not be Jack the ripper who sold his soul to the devil.

Love Robert! Great actor and my idol in movies. Quite a big fan of Dwight Little too. I loved Marked for Death and this and Rapid Fire and course he did Halloween 4 too.
BUT WHERES PART 1??
Robert Englund is a beautiful actor! I adore him in this film.
He looks like Gaston from Disney's Beauty and the Beast in that make up.
Where's part 1??
nothing beats lon chaney senior
Where's Jill Schoelen? lol
It’s a good film.
Kevin Yagher on making up Monica Keena, Joe Mantegna & Jessica Chastain for "Amy" (2015).
I got the UK Blu Ray but the damn thing doesn't have the documentary on it. Pissed.
I am a hot one a fan Monica Keena and Amy Fisher Kevin Yagher.
Not dissing the makeup, but his face looked like Gordon Ramsay. Especially with the chin, nose and overall facial structure
