I don’t know. You can buy a Rolex Sea Dweller ref. 16600 for $7,500-$8,000. And it doesn’t have the updated bracelet or the modern movement’s +/- 2 seconds accuracy or power reserve. So yeah…the modern Air King probably a $7,500+/- watch.

Yea. It’s over hyped now and so many real watch collectors have moved on. Many actually wearing reps as fashion attire. Honestly i’d rather spend $4,500 on the brand new Tudor BB58 Monochrome. Great everyday wear or pick up a classic Omega Speedmaster moonwatch for about $4,500+

Yea I am kind of there too. Went into a rolex store on my first vacation to Italy. Thought it would be awesome to buy my first rolex in a store in italy. I am not rich but I do ok, I walked in in normal clothes and said I'd like to purchase my first rolex and my budget is 5k-10k. They asked If I owned one or was on a waiting list...I said no but I got a wallet and cash or card and i like that one right there for 8k....they said nope..not how it works..said get on a list and wait and then essentially asked me to leave. Definitely made me feel a certain way and looked down upon. Not sure I wanna be part of the rolex community of thats what it's like

It's easy getting the first Rolex, the wait list for the higher models is the issue. Plus buying a year or two older Rolex is really easy to buy and isn't inflated from RRP. Main issue is the more desirable ones

I love watches but I prefer other brands over Rolex. If I can’t walk in an AD and buy it or them get it within a week not for me.

i’m a watch collector and i really fail to see the beauty in these watches they do have the perfect history but design wise? so dull so boring so outdated they only know how to change material, size and dial color, ugly and chunky that’s what Rolex is in my opinion which no one cares about 😂 the only reason why it’s liked because they are advertising and marketing geniuses but watch design wise meh, there are lots of brands 100 times better looking and better movement than those.

I started at 2-tone, used 36mm. Then got a used sea dweller. Then a used batman GMT. Now just got a 40mm wimbledon dial/jubilee/rose (new). Next a grail rolex like a 40mm day-date or white gold pepsi.
