Just built a slightly modified version of this assembly table using your plans. I absolutely love it!! Thanks, John! I reduced the height of the side doors and replaced the top drawers on both ends with 'cubbies' so I can keep clamps and tools off the table when working.

I really like the super-functional design/layout of this. I'm in need of more drawers in my workshop and up until now have been thinking about a typical base cabinet. But I also need to re-do a basic workbench/table that I quickly put together for my miter saw, and your design is the perfect solution for both of my needs -- thanks. Thanks also for the all the little helpful tips throughout the video.

Got to admit I smiled to see you install drawer slides/drawers exactly the same way I do. The only minor difference is I use a single wider piece of plywood. Often times I will domino several off cuts together, start with the top slide and head to the table saw after each set of slides to rip the "template" shorter. In a larger project I will go around to all of the places that require a given "offset" from the bottom, shorten, rinse, repeat. cheers.

What a workhorse, while being great-looking!! And, that goes for your build project, all the Ariat gear, and that newly discovered supermodel 😉😆. Seriously, I'd be happy having your bench features for creating stained glass and fine scale miniatures. Adding a non-slip worktop would be ideal for my use (wide tool drawer vinyl liner, maybe). Just added OMNI racks to the want list, and will tell hubby it's for his late March birthday 🤗.

I have the same kit for the drills only I opted to get one 3 ah batt and one 5 ah with the pack out box for the same price. That little impact is a beast! I one one with a 3/8 and 1/4 inch drive for my garage as well. The collet for the quick bit switch is a little messed up after about 4 years of abuse. Including replacing the suspension on my truck. Great kit. I have a pack out of my work kit and since they won't buy my cool work tools I take this one in the pack out so I can wheel the whole tool box into the hotels when I'm away. Since I have the M18 batteries I have added several other tools. I just wish the fuel circular saws have attachable or build in vacuum ports. Looking forward to them coming out with a track saw.

I do have the Ryobi one batteries for my wife's glue gun so its not a stretch and I really don't need anything "professional". A corded would likely work fine for me and I have thought about just hammering a wen or shop fox cheap one for a bit with a nice blade to dip my feet in there and see if its really useful for what I do.

Love your work! I'm a graphic designer and I was a kitchen and bath designer for 15 years working for Lowes and other big box stores. I started making my own cabinets simply because its easy and I love working with wood and combining my art with my projects. I heard you say you are in Indiana. I lived in Portage for some years selling cabinets for Lowes but I moved back to Illinois where I run a custom airbrush shop at one of the local amusement parks. We should totally do a collaboration piece. Love the Ariat gear too. Totally my style

It’s a new idea Dustopper is working on. They’re starting to put videos about it on their channel if you want to check it out. Basically puts the Dustopper separator inside the vac to eliminate hoses, and have the full capacity of your vacuum instead of a 5 gallon bucket

Hey john! I love your channel and I may borrow some ideas from this workbench. If I can make a suggestion (and I dont know what hardware you're using right now, so forgive me), but upgrading your mic that you're doing voiceovers with, with perhaps a Blue Snowball (sub $50) and a pop filter could really up your voiceover game. It's amazing how cheap and good they sound!

  • @JohnBuildsIt

The sad thing is, this is a highly recommended $250+ microphone haha. I did this voiceover like 8 times and this was as good as I could get it before getting too frustrated. I don’t get this stuff lol, going to go back to my old mic for now

  • @MikeGusFifteen

@@JohnBuildsIt I'm not an audiophile, but depending on the mic and what software u use, you can probly dial that bad boy in real good! But ya that sorta work is pretty frustrating.. I usually just find a KZread tutorial vid of someone with the same mic as me and copy their settings and tweak from there. Good luck!

Fellas, I work professionally in video production and agree with Mike’s suggestion. Blue Snowball is made by Yeti-my go to company for web-based voiceovers. Any yeti mic will work wonders for clean sound. Btw, John love the assembly table. I’ve loved seeing your channel grow since I first discovered your shop vac dust collection jig years ago.
