Tammy, I have been rolling my hair this way for most of my life from the early 1970’s until today. I’m 67 and have had so many different sets over 50 some years. I have tried different ways of styling my hair and even cut my hair shorter. I end up going back to what I know and find that this is the only way I can get my hair to look right. I found curling irons frustrating to use. The best part is that I can set my hair and then finish getting ready, or complete other tasks. The joke in our family is my wearing my hair in rollers on the way to school and taking them out right before we hit the town limits, and this habit has continued until today. You shared some great tips and products. Thank you!

Hello! Just found your video. I’m 64 and started using hot rollers again after decades of not using them. Not a curling iron or flat iron user. I used hot rollers all the time in high school. I purchased my new set on Amazon. Loved your tutorial. Great tips. So you’re in Buffalo! I was born in Buffalo! I left when I was 8. Moved to California and still live here in the Los Angeles area. Your hair is absolutely GORGEOUS!!! I love hot rollers & need a new set so I'm glad you have a recommendation that isn't super expensive. My set is 25 to 30 years old now. 🤣 I actually have another set that's even older (still works) but the rollers are too small for the length of my hair. The type of clips matter greatly. My current set has clips that leave flat "marks" if placed where they hold the best. 🙄 I actually use claw clips on the rollers on the top of my head to keep it from looking weird. Thanks for this video & ALL your others! You are inspirational to me! I'm 57 and trying to embrace aging while striving to look & feel my best. You are an example of my goals!!! You seem to be a truly genuine & beautiful woman!!!

Gorgeous! Love, love, LOVE your new cut! They layers are perfect! The Moroccan Oil Purple Shampoo/Conditioner are the best for my blonde hair. I've tried so many, and, either one of these is the best, to me. Love that you list all of your products! It's so helpful. I have fine hair that is not as thick as I would like. So, I need all the lift I can get. I use the same method as you, when I remove the Babyliss rollers. I have had them for a long time and they work best on my hair. I hope you are enjoying Summer in NY, with lesser humidity! I finally had a few minutes to watch this video and am a happy woman! Love your detailed techniques! Thank you, Tammy!

Tammy, I am a level 9 blonde. I have tried every purple shampoo/ conditioner there is and always find them over-drying. I purchased the OGX purple drops and apply to my towel dried hair. I can determine how much to use myself without any undue surprises (Purple hair) when it dries! They don’t dry out my hair at all and I also use the CR shampoo and conditioner alternating with Redken shampoo / conditioner. The OGX drops are a deeper violet than the conditioner you showed.

YOU changed my LIFE with this video!!!! I owe it to you, girl! I had a set of jumbo hot rollers (12) in my CLOSET (yeah, my closet) from years past. I have been using a hot brush and sometimes a curling iron to try and curl my long layered hair, but have always turned out very disappointed with the end results. The look just never was right and the curl NEVER stayed. I saw your video and reminded myself that I had a set and then pushed myself to run your video while following your instructions as I followed through to the end. When it came time to take them out, I've got to admit that my hopes weren't high. When I turned my head upside down and ran my fingers through my hair slightly, then turned my head back over, I nearly fell to the floor!!! I actually screamed out loud, "YESSSS!!!!!" I just can't believe this! YOU are a Godsend!!! Needless to say, I'm not only subscribing, I'm your your most devoted follower now. P.S. I'm 65 years old, but still blessed with long and thick hair. BLESSINGS to you, dear lady, and THANKS again!!! ❤

Loved this! I've been hot rolling my hair for years. One thing I learned was, you know how you said it's better if your hair is freshly dried? I don't like blow drying my hair because it's so fine that it weakens it. So I go to bed with my hair wet and it's dry when I wake in the morning. So in the morning, I just take a spray water bottle and spritz it a LITTLE. By the time I'm done plucking my eyebrows, it's dry but when I curl my hair, it works really well. Hugs!

I’ve used hot rollers for years. My go to inexpensive brand is Conair. I use two sets or 18 rollers. I do spray the roots at the crown and minimal spray in conditioner elsewhere. When I’m done I use a great shine serum like Ghost oil and place it where I want to mold my style in place or where it needs shine. If I want a smooth style with fullness I use a round boar bristle brush. Lastly, if needed dry shampoo can be used at the roots. I will say oftentimes I can go a few days just throwing in hot rollers for touch ups while applying makeup and I’m out the door. Through the years, I’ve been stopped by people asking me how I do my hair. Easy Peezy.

Such a great tutorial. I am 63 with fine medium length hair and am going to give the rollers a try again. That was all I used in my college days, and I don’t know what happened from there. Currently just blow dry and run a heated round brush through it for smoothnesses. Live in Boca Raton, so you know the weather here! Thanks.
