@@sagoatgaming8017 the catback goes from the catalytic converter all the way back. the axleaback goes from the axle and everything behind it. It basically just replaced the muffler. However for the same exhaust system, youre paying a lot more for a catback than axleback. for example a flowmaster outlaw catback is like $200 more than a flowmaster outlaw axleback

I did enjoy the sound of my H pipe but I just got the x pipe behind my long tubes and on the dyno I did get a little more power and a little more rev. I have to say I'm very satisfied with the pypes X pipe

Yeah thats true. I have heard of more gains with the X pipe here and there, Don't get me wrong, I love the X pipe. I may be slapping one on soon.

My favorite is the Stock H pipe and the Flowmaster Outlaws. 🔥 True muscle sound.

Gonna say even hi-flow cat x-pipe is loud as fuck. I had Bassani's and yes I loved the sound paired with their stright through mufflers but I threw cat codes and swapped for Magnaflow's H-pipe. Still sounds hella nice and actually I think it sounds better :) I'd rather have a slower car that sounds good than a fast car that sounds like ass :)

Awesome overview of the S197 exhaust anatomy and various axle backs. I have a 2008 Bullitt with the stock Bullitt exhaust which is unique to the Bullitts. Low and grumbly. Idle sounds amazing and obviously sounds amazing when you get on it. I’ve thought about changing it but to be honest it sounds so good that I don’t have any reason to swap.

I got an 07 Shelby gt which came with its own exhaust wonder if it’s the same , it’s a nice sounding setup but wish it was a little more louder tbh so not sure what I wanna do with it yet

Corsa Extremes has the best tone for that car and can be the easiest one to manipulate in rpms to keep it quiet. That RSC feature for zero drone is the best in the industry.

Hey Nate, I ran this setup, just whacked the mufflers and ran straight pipe back from the catz. It's state legal and passes emission, you will have a bit of a drone, but with the right stereo you won't notice it much. I went with 3.5 inch pipes on both sides, this was for my 05 GT, this thing grumbles nice at first startup, and sounds great at WOT and cruise. Love the down shift as well.

And horse power I did the same but went back to mufflers I am running Carven R series they are pretty loud an I just have stock H pipe hoping to get BBK headers an an aftermarket H pipe an it should be alot louder an sound really good

Stainless works headers with high flow cats, no crossover pipe and Bassani axle back. Super throaty/grumbly not insanely loud. Love it.

Hi Nate great video!!! I am about to change my axle back. Rest of the car is stock and have no plans on changing that. I have JBA axle backs at the moment, love the sound but really want a deeper louder muscle car sound when idling. And a little bit of crackle when you put your foot on it. I am going to add the Ford hot rod cams in the future. I have watched endless videos on KZread trying to make up my mind. What do you think would be my best option? Cheers Paul

I have a loudmouth axle back with an h pipe. Not sure which h pipe though. I love the way it sounds and it’s burbles a lot between 1500 and 2000 rpms

Nice video!!!! I wish I had this video a long time ago! I have BBK shorty headers, BBK 2.75" off-road x-pipe, 3" MBRP catback and MBRP race axleback. Sounds great at WOT. But it has a drone around 2k RPM that's hard on the ears. They don't make too many 3" axlebacks for the 3v, but I might be changing mine out to avoid losing my hearing.

No idea! I had boom tubes before, but these were 2.5 in. They didn't have any drone. Maybe you can do a video showing how to remove drone. I could always go back to the 2.5 in catback I suppose.

I wake up the neighbors for sure! My '05GT is running a BBK 72MM Throttle body, BBK CAI, with a BBK Catted X-Pipe and a Flowmaster Outlaw exhaust!

I'm running an SLP Loudmouth 1. Old school V8 sound, it does drone a bit around 2000rpm, but it doesn't bother me. I get compliments wherever I go about how good it sounds.

I just bought an '06 Mustang with Outlaws on H pipes. I like the outside sound fine but the sound inside the car below 2,500 RPM is so loud that we can't hear the radio or even talk. Can you recommend an axle-back muffler that is similar but not so loud inside the car?

Yes. I got it from AM and stuck it on myself so did not cost me much. But, the Pypes did have slight fit issues and slight drone, but nothing that bad. Haha. Take care.

I'm running BBK long tubes and o/r x pipe with flowmaster outlaws on the back. Sounds alot different than stock H with FRPP axle backs. Waaay louder! Definitely not stock at idle and an ear bleeder when rippin on it.

Hey I really enjoy your videos.i just recently purchased me a 05 mustang gt and I love it.I have a question and it may sound crazy but I'm just curious what weight oil you ran in sally?I am torn on either switching to 5w30 or keeping it 5w20.Its got about 170000 miles so it's a bit high but it runs amazing.I was wondering what your personal oil choice was with the 3valve and would it be ok to go to 5w30

You come to the right place Kyle! First, mid pipe: I would go with pypes off road h pipe. Because you said you didn't want it too loud. X pipe would increase the volume by a lot. axle back: I would go with a chambered style like the American thunder, Pypes violator, or borla s type stingers. That will quiet down the sound a bit, but its still gonna be hella loud lol For performance: BBK long tube headers shorty x pipe and any straight through design muffler like roush extreme, pypes pype bomb, or borla Hope this helps!

Nate Rider I got the shorties because cracked a manifold going through a car wash. I don't have a dyno of before so I don't know if there was a power increase, but they change up the whole harmonic of the exhaust, like you hear a lot more inside the car from the engine area, and I sware it got louder. I love them.

I bought a 2008 4.6 with bbk headers. My first sports car by the way. Don’t know if they are shorty. I believe it’s an X pipe it merges at the center of the car then separated towards the end of the car. And I also see flowmaster axle backs. It’s pretty loud if you ask me. I need someone to let me know my setup and give me some advice. I can even send pictures

Nate Rider hey man so I got a question I got a little V6 mustang. Now I do want it to sound a bit meaner but I’m not sure what to get as most stuff is for V8, and tips?

I have a v6 with a dual magnaflow exhaust with a jlt cai and an sct tune a few more things done to it pushing close to 300 hp but at idle it is easily mistaken for a v8 because it has a nice rumble but it has a v6 scream when i take off my favorite sounding other than an Audi r8 is my car

Nate Rider I wanted a v8 because I had the 5.0 foxbody which was all stock and I couldn't do anything to it because my dad said it had too many miles but the v6 was cheaper and I would say it gets better gas mileage but it read about 15 mpg

I have a 2007 mustang GT, I'm 16 yrs old and I was wondering what I should get for exhaust setup, mine is just all stock and I want to spend about $1000- $1500, I want it loud and aggressive what should I do?

There is zero performance gain difference between the x and h pipe. Good vid. Catbacks are more expensive but my buddies 11 gt has the Borla S type 3 inch. It has to be the best sounding mustang ive heard.

I got slp axel back exhaust an off road h pipe and pacesetter long tube headers and it does wake up the neighbors and does a lots of pops that makes alarms go off and still love it it puts some 5.0’s out of commision lol
