I agree. I am from Louisiana and loved Justin Wilson. I believe he smiles down on Chef Jean. He would say "I guaronteee" he can cook as good as me. I am getting ready to experiment and use eggnog as my custard for my bread pudding. It works beautifully with French Toast. All you do is dip your bread in the eggnog and cook as normal. So very delicious. I may have to use a few regular pudding ingredients but it might be OK without. We shall see.
I love bread pudding and I sometimes put apples in it. Once again the amazing chef Jean Paul takes the recipe to the next level. I will definitely be making this recipe. Thank you chef for always making our lives more enjoyable through your cooking 😊

I’ve watched tons of cooking programs over decades and am a pretty informed cook but in 3 weeks I’ve learned so much on this channel. So many great tips!❤. I absolutely love bread pudding as my grandmother was a great cook and made a mean bread and rice puddings.😊

Hmmmm..... my Oma used to make something similar, but not so many ingredients. I haven't had it in years. It was called a "Kirschenjockel". A traditional breakfast in Germany consists of Brotchen (bread rolls). When you have too many, they get hard. Perfect for making bread pudding! Kirschen are cherries --- most pantries will have a jar of them and it's easy to dump them in. I miss her.
Lolol! You shoulda heard my wife scream when Chef was about to mix the crumble: "No! No!...the butter!" She was yelling at Chef JP like he could hear her thru the screen. 😂 We watch you cook as a family. LOVE your channel Chef.

I am a bread pudding freak, and I have made more apple crisp than I can even remember. My son used to request them for his birthday "cake" when he was little. So when I saw that you had combined the two I was ecstatic! I cannot wait to make this. I made this yesterday and let me tell you, it really is AMAZING! This is the type of dessert I expect when going to a nice restaurant, not that cheap frozen crap from SYSCO!!!! Trust in Chef JP!!!

One of the funniest chefs 😄 on line. It tastes amazing, of course (it has a ton of sugar in total 😅), but I guess some would prefer a lighter version and I guess the chef would approve it: I'd put the nuts with the rest of ingredients (doesn't need crumble on top, releasing that amount of sugar), and I'd skip the caramel sauce (another bunch of sugar out). Though, it should be in the fridge for 24h before baking it. Then you serve it with ice cream or chantilly on top, or with your pastry cream (making it a little runnier like a custard). A green touch with some leaves of mint for decoration and voilà!. Less sugar and still delicious, specially with the custard 😋.

When I was a teen, Bread pudding was a monthly treat in our house. Never got tired of it. My mother would use dry bread that collected over the past weeks. A bit of rum in there would be nice.

I'm so invigorated and exhausted at the same time.. this year we are doing g, I did.. the stuffin muffins, the butternut soup, the suflé, green beans with almonds. This not only looks amazing and delicious it actually looks quite simple. My Mom made a beautiful bread pudding very much like this. Just no rum soaked raisins but she would have loved those because she made a warm buttered rum sauce to top individual portions.
Bread pudding is amazing imo. It's quite famous here in Belgium. I live next to a old skool bakery. He uses all the different kinds of left overs for bread pudding (fragipan etc) so if it tastes overly cinnamon then we all know that he didn't like the result.....and literally the whole street teases him then. Too funny
