What are your thoughts on the ZV-E1?

@@jamesplees I was struggling with this same thing for the longest time. Both are fantastic cameras. If it was based on features alone… the a6700 is less expensive and I would say an all around better camera. It has the view finder, it has more megapixels for photos, it still has 10bit video like the ZV-E1, and a flip out screen. I think the only real advantage of the ZV-E1 is that full frame sensor compared to the a6700 which as an aps-c sensor. If full frame isn’t a big deal to you, then go with the a6700.

I use it comfortably in 40+ Celsius and never had an issue with overheating.

Do you typically record shorter videos? I haven’t had mine overheat either 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@ZacSopak Yeah i do, maybe 20 mins intervals because i rest for 2-3 minutes and then keep going. I really think the overheating issue was blown out of proportion or they did something with the last firmware update. Ulanzi fan would be a good backup for 4k live streamig I think.

@@H2o3G2a okay, that’s pretty my experience too. I felt like it was worth putting in the video because I heard so much about it, but I’ve never actually had the problem myself 😂

​​@@H2o3G2a I find the majority of videos that appeared roughly around a year ago, all reviewed it as if they were using it professionally for weddings or full blown film studios, or filming 8 long hour 4k120fps videos, and in doing so completely missed the point of this camera. I feel a fair few of those reviewers should really come back and review it properly. For what it is... a superb content creation camera for vloggers, travelers and small time video makers

Same here! I’m using it a lot more than my A7iv for the convenience and size 😂 happy to hear I’m not the only one who hasn’t had the overheating issue. Maybe it’s been a bit blown out of proportion. Thanks for watching

Interesting, I have a Canon mount Sigma lens that might work if there's an adapter for this mirrorless cam... Would have been handy during the recent Aurora, but I can't seem to find any footage anyone has shot of it with this camera...

There is definitely an adapter for Canon ef lenses to fit Sony E-mont. I wish I was in a place where we could see the Aurora. Looked incredible

What lens did you use to vlog? I want to understand what the arm distance is.

I believe the opening shots were with the Tamron 17-28 2.8 at 17mm with dynamic active stabilization enabled which adds a crop. It looks like 3:10 was probably the tamron as well 3:30 would be the Sony 20mm 1.8 was dynamic active stabilization on. Either way if I’m doing a shot with the camera handheld, it’s one of those two lenses on the wide end and I most likely have dynamic active stabilization turned on

I just don't wanna watch vlog without good image stabilization. Especially I watch KZread x 1.25~2 speed up. Most of sony vloging video is just not watchable unless vloger use heavy gimbal I've been using Sony camera, to be honestly Image stabilization SUCKS. Both hardware and software. Sony catalyst is pain to use. Since sony camera has small mount, there are not enough room for the sensor to move around to get stable image I just use my dji pocket for video.

I don’t think I could do KZread at 1.25-2x speed, but I would certainly be able to watch more videos 😂 agreed that the Sony stabilization is typically okay, not fantastic, but the dynamic active stabilization on this camera is MUCH BETTER than the normal active stabilization. Granted, there is a small crop, but it’s well worth the trade off.

SOrry what's witht he licensing upgrade? I'm out of the loop. You need a license to make it work at 120fps? Explain wtf?

It’s a free upgrade, but you have to download it with a specific license. You have to put in your camera’s serial number and then you can download it. Not sure why they don’t just add it into a firmware update so you don’t have to take the extra step, but that’s how you do it.
