I know Bambu have been trying to get the information out, but i am still seeing a lot of people commenting on it in a way that suggests a lot of people are not aware that Bambu have said that A1 owners should not use it until the safety issues have been resolved.

Curious series of releases from Bambu... though perhaps Prusa loosing most of their market share is the point of these printers. Amazing how quickly Bambu has popped up while looking completely legit. US warehouses. Cheap parts. Etc. If they stay this dominant, I just hope all that continues. I don't see how other mid teir printers could stand up to the value here, outside of large format machines.

Question: In terms of capabilities, can the multiple feeders be used to automatically switch filament when one feed's run stops? I would think this would be a great way to handle larger print jobs when you have limited filament left on a roll... just let it run out and the printer could switch to a secondary roll (potentially of the same kind of filament). Curious if this can be done automatically with the A1.

While I’m out of the market for a bed slinger, these are tempting especially if those ports on the back mean multiple AMS lites can be used. I can see having one of these in the shop so I could do multi color printing and as a backup/spare to go along my x1c, p1p and p1s printers as well as what ever printer I decide I’m going to move forward with for a large format printer. I was hoping beyond all hope that we would see a bigger core xy this year but now I’m afraid it will be another year.

@@UncleJessy I dunno. SaaS in design may work for an Enterprise company, but for 1-5 person in-house shop may be too spicy over the long haul. It's easy to forget an automatic monthly debit but after five years, you've dropped $1500. And it's highly unlikely you will be able to depreciate it, as the costs pertain to project in development. So it's an expense. As for Bambu, the X1 and P1P went directly after Prusa's machines. Now the bedslinger form is after Creality's market.

the only issue I take with these is, they are bed slinger (Cartesian style) printers so they take up more space depth wise. Like the Elegoo Neptune 4 Max is a great printer, and I love the one I have but it commands 3ft of space to clear that massive bed. Where my Voron 2.4 350 takes up its 2ft of space and isn't getting any bigger LOL. I would like to see from Bambu would be a 350mm build X1 or P1 or other lettered core X/Y printer. Doing a 300mm wouldn't really make that much of a difference over there 250's already, but making a 100mm jump in size would be what people want.

This looks great, but there is one question I never see answered: How much physical space will I need to place this on a table? Also, as a new to filament user, I'm also assuming that I really don't need the AMS right now, how worthwhile is it to have the ability to use other types of filament - ABS, PET, PC, PA, Carbon Fiber, etc? The difference other than in price between this and the XI is the filament you can use. Also, I know out of the box how much desk space I need for the X1 Carbon. I love how easy it is to swap hot ends, too.

You can apparently print something to mount the ams on top

Purchasing PLA’s from Amazon and mixed PLA’s? Example- sparkly or rainbow PLA. Will those work with the AMS?

What is slicer showing up in preview in places where these "banding/lines" occur? "filling gaps" ?

nothing out of the ordinary and for things like the back part of the helmet when I printed it a 2nd time there was no visible lines

@@UncleJessy Ok. Asking because I saw different behaviour with broken stl models with Classic (causing fat line in middle of print due to gap filling) vs Arachne (not doing any gap filling).

TBH I only clicked because of the print. I want to make one now.

I don't really get the "hate" for the interface on the P series as you can pretty much do everything needed via other software. I like what that new Ankermake did to reduce pricing; have NO digital interface, they suggest using an old smart phone or other device to control it.

I also rarely use it. The only thing i use it sometimes for is to check the print time when i'm right in front of the printer, but everything else I do from Bambu Studio or Handy App.

If you turned off the option of active flow control (its a new option) you are not going to have the problem again with the corners

Free A1s for (almost) everyone 😅 AMS excluded, it just feels like a Klipper bedslinger or M5C with old phone as a display, despite all the hype.

So I have a P1S for fast prints and anything that needs an enclosure and a Elegoo Neptune 3 Plus for bigger things (but it feels soooo slow). I would like to get a faster printer, not needing an AMS (for now) and don't need an enclosure. Would you go for the P1P or the A1 and why? Many thanks

@puppetuppers4806 not when my partner swipes it half the time especially around Christmas, Halloween etc when we do tons of stuff for the kids and we're talking about doing craft fairs since my partner managed to make £200 pretty much by accident

I just bought one to take the PLA/PETG load off my X1C. I can use my X1C for exotic filaments and the daily driver will now be the A1.

I mostly do pla and I dont see any reason why you'd need the X1C over this unless you really wanted some of the other fancy options or a fully enclosed system
