I wish this was all detailed and documented and easy to find for the locals. This history should be preserved and promoted through the community
Great history presentation. I wish there were more photos of old Amy ave.
My grandmother grew up on Amy Ave and shared several stories with me. She lived in Madisonville her whole life. She passed in 2022 at the age of 92
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR THIS DOCUMENTARY!!! MY GRANDPARENTS LIVED THEIR ENTIRE LIVES IN MADISONVILLE. I LIVED THE FIRST YEARS OF MY LIFE IN MADISONVILLE. MY GRANDPARENTS WERE MEMBERS OF TRINITY, AND WE WERE MEMBERS OF GAINES. IF YOU HAVE THIS ON DVD, I WOULD LOVE TO PURCHASE A COPY! I CONTACTED THE MADISONVILLE LIBRARY FOR MADISONVILLE HISTORY ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO. ACCORDING TO WHO I SPOKE WITH, SHE WAS NOT AWARE IF THEY HAD ANY DOCUMENTARIES LIKE THIS.
It is impossible to get into the upper entrance of the United American Cemetery. Many of my family are buried there.
YOU ARE SO CORRECT ON "SENSE OF HOME". MADISONVILLE ALWAYS FELT LIKE HOME. THE LAST TIME I DROVE THROUGH, IT DID NOT FEEL LIKE HOME ANYMORE.
TO THE LAST WOMAN IN BLACK WHO SPOKE, THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU SAID!!!
